zqvol Posted March 4, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 4, 2017 Hello, Due to Circumstances, we need to make a change Leaving March 12 May we do a name change? and if so, any idea of the cost? - Call this should be something you can accomplish. May we change the date to March 19th....will fees apply - It will be a cancellation and a new booking. The fee will be 100% of what you have paid for the March 12th cruise. May one person sail as it is completely paid for.... Yes this is not an issue, Would any thing be refunded such as gratuities for one drink package, spa package etc? The gratuities, port fees, and any other prepaids will be refunded. All advice is very much appreciated Thanks Lou:o Notes above
SuiteTraveler Posted March 4, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 4, 2017 Name change = cancel and rebook and you loose 100%. Read the NCL Cancellation policy - a name change is a cancel and rebook according to it: https://www.ncl.com/about/cancellation-fee-schedule If you go on the 19th instead of the 12th, then it is cancel and rebook and you loose - well I believe 100% at this point. One person can sail - don't cancel the other one, they will be a no-show. To do this, you check them in online as normal and then when you get to the pier, you check in as normal (don't say anything about the other person) and the other person just never shows up. If you are asked about it onboard (likely they will page you) say the other person missed their flight and you have not heard from them if they got another one. Typically the person who never made the ship will be refunded port fees, taxes and the service charge. BTW, if you booked through CAS - no one cares about any of this and you can go alone and no one will care that the other person never boards the ship. cage keeper Posted March 5, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 5, 2017 Please search this. Many people posted that they had no problem and no fees changing names.
Demonyte Posted March 5, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 5, 2017 Changing one of two main passengers' name even just days before the cruise hasn't been a problem no matter what NCL's webpage says. It becomes a cancel & rebook only if you change both names from original.
Mac4YYZ Posted March 5, 2017 #6 Share Posted March 5, 2017 Name change no problem. I have done it before with NCL. No fee. Sent from my SM-T320 using Forums mobile app

Besides the fact that this wastes ship's time at departure by paging and possibly waiting awhile, if the person has travel insurance it does not cover a "no show" whereas it might cover a cancellation depending on the coverage. TrumpyNor Posted March 5, 2017 #9 Share Posted March 5, 2017 https://www.ncl.com/eu/en/about-us/terms-conditions#BOOKING-CHANGES Different rules regarding changes/cancellations for bookings done through NCL in Europe than for bookings done through NCL in the US.... newmexicoNita Posted March 5, 2017 #10 Share Posted March 5, 2017 as the sailing date is only a week away, there may be a charge for a name change, maybe not. A few weeks or a month away would be different. If I were you, instead of asking all of us, I would call NCL asap and talk to a supervisor, not just an agent.
