Lydia B. Posted March 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 16, 2017 I have a quick and silly question. Is anyone noticed on the buffet if they offer any Hommas? Frankly I've got sort of hooked on the stuff a few things but you can munch on this low in calories and fat. Thanks so much, Lydia
aquilegia Posted March 16, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 16, 2017 Can't say I've ever noticed it. I like it too, but unless you get a low fat version it's actually quite high in calories.
Rare azbirdmom Posted March 16, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 16, 2017 I've seen hummus late afternoons on more than one ship. I also saw it during lunch on the Royal and Regal.
easyboy Posted March 16, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 16, 2017 Noticed it at the Regal buffet station. Not a fan of it though.
LokiPoki Posted March 17, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 17, 2017 Dawn had it in the buffet last week. No idea what it was like though...I'm very picky about flavour balance in my hummus and only eat homemade. Doubt it would be low fat though... looked to be half swimming in oil, not just the drizzle you'd normally see on top.
Working 2 Cruise Posted March 17, 2017 #6 Share Posted March 17, 2017 You did mean hummus, right?
PrettyGirl01 Posted March 17, 2017 #7 Share Posted March 17, 2017 They serve it when they have a middle-eastern style theme. I have tried it but it was just mediocre IMHO.
geocruiser Posted March 17, 2017 #8 Share Posted March 17, 2017 They had it every day at lunch on Regal Princess's buffet. I tried it once, but for me it needed more garlic.
DrivesLikeMario Posted March 17, 2017 #9 Share Posted March 17, 2017 Yes Nina, I think the OP means "hummus". ;)
Thrak Posted March 17, 2017 #10 Share Posted March 17, 2017 My wife loves it. I find it extremely "meh". Haven't looked for it. I asked my wife and she's never noticed it so either it wasn't available on our particular ships and cruises or we just never noticed. We don't eat dinner in the buffet most times so, if there was a middle eastern night there we likely missed it.
aquilegia Posted March 17, 2017 #11 Share Posted March 17, 2017 Hommas is an alternative name for it. In the UK we always call it hummus, but the OP isn't wrong using hommas.
flamomo Posted March 18, 2017 #12 Share Posted March 18, 2017 Hommas is an alternative name for it. In the UK we always call it hummus, but the OP isn't wrong using hommas. Interesting bit of trivia! Thank you for that. I had never seen the alternative spelling before.
