Sitzmark Posted March 24, 2017 #77 Share Posted March 24, 2017 Found a pic of one. There appears to be red too I don't know why, but I don't see the picture. ETA I googled Carnival Casino coiled lanyard and found several pictures. I agree that if this is the Casino lanyard, I do not want it.

cajunfla Posted March 24, 2017 #79 Share Posted March 24, 2017 After required wearing of work ID card on a lanyard for years, wearing one in the ship is not a bother. It's handy to give to a waiter/waitress when ordering a drink, or trying to enter the cabin.
cruisebrotha06 Posted March 24, 2017 #80 Share Posted March 24, 2017 I've never seen them give them out on the ship except for in the casino. I have several from different cruise lines. I interchange them depending on my cruise. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Petunia & Hubby Posted March 24, 2017 #85 Share Posted March 24, 2017 My bra Yup! Works great! Hi,yes, this is our first cruise - Just wondering if I should buy lanyards ahead of time or if they give you one when you board? OR is there something better to keep the sail and sign cards in? I was thinking I might want some sort of cross body waterproof type tiny bag to carry both phone and card in?? there was a bag on the Carnival site I saw but I am wondering what the best way to go is ... sk8rmomof3 Posted March 24, 2017 #88 Share Posted March 24, 2017 I really don't care what anyone else thinks if I choose to wear my card on a lanyard around my neck. If someone doesn't want to wear one themselves, fine, but I don't think people should look down their noses or call people "dorks" if they wear one. One thing I've noticed is that darned if you do, darned if you don't.

andreabland93 Posted March 25, 2017 #91 Share Posted March 25, 2017 Dork over here✋🏿 .... I wear a lanyard. Suits my lifestyle just fine so I can't complain. Seen plenty of others with them and never felt out of place ... but I've only been on three cruises.
Iamcruzin Posted March 25, 2017 #92 Share Posted March 25, 2017 You should just be sure that wherever you store your S & S card that it is no where near your phone. The magnetic stripes deactivate sometimes when stored near a phone. I have no idea why but it has happened to me many times. I just keep my card in my back pocket or in a small crossbody purse I take on vacations. Never had a problem with the magnetic strip being deactivated by the phone. I keep my credit cards in a wallet with my phone. Most likely the sea pass was demagnetized by the magnet clasp on the bag. This happens to my wife when she carries it in her evening bag. Now I just hold both in my pocket. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

dennbr9 Posted March 25, 2017 #94 Share Posted March 25, 2017 Cruise Critic sells a nice one with a ring on it. It also detaches so is only a shorter fob with the ring. You go to Pursers and have them punch a hole in it. I do not wear it around my neck, but loop it around a belt and put end in my pocket. Detach it easily to pay for drinks or whatever and rest of hanging lanyard helps to remind you to get it back. Lanyards with plastic holders can be a real pain to take it out. Do not carry a wallet except off the Ship. Wife attaches hers to her pool or beach bag so is handy and secure. 2chilover Posted March 25, 2017 #95 Share Posted March 25, 2017 I don't wear one. Its kinda tacky to me imo. I dont wear my credit cards and debit cards around my neck so why would i with my s&s card? Seems kinda juvenile imo. Hi! First let me say that I hope you enjoy your first cruise and that it will be the first of many. No, unfortunately, you are not given one when you check in. However, they are available for purchase onboard all of the ships. You can buy them at the gift shops on the ship. There is also tables that are often set up on the ship as you board and out near the pool through the week. Sent from my iPad using Forums
mean.green10 Posted March 25, 2017 #100 Share Posted March 25, 2017 You can pick up a lanyard at any souvenir shop in any port, or the ship's casino. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
