Biker19 Posted April 5, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 5, 2017 It's out in the burbs next to the mall, but good area. You may want to also ask in the East Coast departures. BTW, welcome to CC.
Lisette325 Posted April 5, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 5, 2017 Sawgrass is far west from the port. I would stay at Hyatt instead, it is closer Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare LMaxwell Posted April 5, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 5, 2017 Not that close to port really, but not very far. Would have to be getting a phenomenal rate to stay out by Sawgrass if I was cruising. If you are trying to stay at Hilton brand or use Hilton points there are much closer hotels. Sawgrass itself is a decent area.
Bkchero Posted April 6, 2017 #5 Share Posted April 6, 2017 About 20 mins. from my house. Very safe area although like any mall it draws the typical purse snatchers, car break ins, etc. that you will see at any suburban mall. Mall has restaurants and there are others along Sunrise Blvd. and if you are looking for shopping it's a good choice. As noted above it is far from port, maybe 30 mins. LeeW Posted April 6, 2017 #6 Share Posted April 6, 2017 We wouldn't stay out there, but we've lived near outlet malls in several parts of the country and it isn't a novelty. You can see the ship from the Pier 66 hotel, and there are a bunch of yachts tied up against the hotel. We tend to stay along 17th but location depends totally on prices. Prices can change daily there so you need to keep looking and jump on a good price. Prices away from the beach are certainly much cheaper.
cloud7cruise Posted April 6, 2017 #7 Share Posted April 6, 2017 We actually stayed here for a couple of nights pre-cruise just 3 weeks ago. We were renting a car anyway to do some sightseeing so the hotel location was not a concern for us. The price was great as compared to hotels near the airport or the cruise port. We got it on Priceline Express Deal. The savings more than made up for the cost of renting a car. The hotel staff were great and you get free parking. We would stay there again.
