sg1phileshipper Posted April 22, 2017 Author #51 Share Posted April 22, 2017 Thank you for following along. Had another good day in sunny Florida. Drove to the outlet in Vineland and started with breakfast at Mesan sandwiches. The omelet with toast was very tasty, but way too fat I hit all my favorite stores and bought another polo shirt and dress shirt at Tommy Hilfiger. Finally found three pair of training pants for my dad. Around noon I drove to the Florida Mall, my least favorite mall. I had a great lunch at an Italian restaurant were you chose all your ingredients, but I forgot the name. I took whole grain penne with vegetables, bolognaise and alfredo sauce topped with a meatball. It was delicious I bought a jersey from the Orlando soccer team, that'll be a great souvenir! Headed to the Ross nearby to look for more training pants. The place was worse than a zoo and got out empty handed. Drovecto Ross on Turkey Lake Rd and same result, minus the zoo. Ended up spending two hours looking for postcards... I tell ya, it's hard to find some! I am now waiting for my sandwich and chicken to be delivered. Cindy
sg1phileshipper Posted April 22, 2017 Author #52 Share Posted April 22, 2017 It should have been an uneventful day today, but it wasn't meant to be. The drive went pretty well and I arrived at the Marriott around 1 to drop off my bags. Drove back to the airport to drop off car and took a cab back to the hotel. Once there I realised my iPhone had fallen out of my pocket and was left in the taxi. I was very close to [emoji24] . I travel with an iPhone 4 that has a US SIM and my Iphone SE. Let that be the one that fell out of my pocket. Thanks to the amazing help of a CC member the taxi driver was contacted fast enough and drove my phone back to me. I am so grateful to you. You know who you are. THANK YOU! Had a very late lunch at Coconuts and was back in time to see Harmony sail by. To be honest with you, I didn't think much of the big ships. In my opinion they are ugly. But when I saw her sitting there when driving over the draw bridge, I changed my mind. She is one beautiful lady. I booked an interior room with a King through LMT Club and ended up in 2 doubles with a balcony. Not bad! I had to organise my suitcase again and my room ended up being a mess The big decision I have to make right now is which bed I am gonna sleep in... Will I set my alarm in the middle of the night to switch beds? Decisions decisions. Now I still have to decide when I am going to the ship tomorrow. Wait until the cabin is ready? Go in the am? I'll have to get back to you with the answer! Cindy

sg1phileshipper Posted April 23, 2017 Author #57 Share Posted April 23, 2017 Today is the big day. To be honest with you, I didn't sleep very well last night. I fell asleep easily, the beds are very comfortable, but woke up around midnight. One of my neighbours had the tv blasting. Loud, really loud. I sleep with earplugs and boy it was loud. I can understand that some people don't hear very well, but isn't that the point of CC on the tv? About 30 minutes later I think they went to sleep. Luckily! I woke up before 6 this morning and couldn't go back to sleep. Obviously I am very excited. Well duh! And hey, my neighbour just woke up and turned his tv on. And guess what? It is loud! I sure do hope that's not my neighbour on the ship... [emoji33]. I just realised my room here is connecting. Well, that explains it! I went down to Starbucks around 7 for breakfast and I ate on my balcony. Weather is not so good, it is pouring right now The bags are re-packed and I am so ready to go. I'll just hang out in my room and call the bellhop when I am ready. See you on the ship Cindy

sg1phileshipper Posted April 23, 2017 Author #62 Share Posted April 23, 2017 I made it on board and I am currently sitting in the windjammer having a huge salad with tuna for lunch. Port side salad bar didn't have ranch, but haven't checked port side. I hope they didn't forget my ranch! Left my room around 10 and arrived at the port around 10.30. And there she was sitting. The big day is finally there. Check-in building was not extremely crowded, just buzzing with people Priority line Diamond and diamond plus was a mot bussier than the lower levels Cindy
sg1phileshipper Posted April 23, 2017 Author #63 Share Posted April 23, 2017 At one point check-in came to a stand still because of computer problems. People were let on the ship somewhere between 11 and 11.30, don't know how late exactly. I was stuck at check-in. After another short wait we were let on board Correct picture for diamond and diamond plus is this one: Cindy

sg1phileshipper Posted April 23, 2017 Author #66 Share Posted April 23, 2017 I am happy to say that I am unpacked. My bags arrived at 1.15 and my cans of soda made it too. I had bogo booked and went to Galileo's to make reservations for the first tow night. Tonight it's gonna be Chops and tomorrow Giovanni's. sg1phileshipper Posted April 23, 2017 Author #67 Share Posted April 23, 2017 Officers I am extremely happy to report my bed is very comfortable. It feels like a cloud. I had requested a mattress topper prior, but was told the no longer offer them. So I bought one at Walmart and took it with me. I won't be needing it! So if you're on board today and your bed is too hard, feel free to come ask for my topper. I don't need it. Muster drill is at 4.30. I'm off to roam the ship and see how many CC members I run into ! YlangYlangF9PB3E Posted April 23, 2017 #68 Share Posted April 23, 2017 I feel as though I'm on that ship - so excited for you! Thanks for the wonderful posts and pictures - and today's Compass! I hope the weather has improved. We are about 45 minutes north of Ft. Lauderdale and it's been raining buckets all day. It's FINALLY stopped. I hope a ray or two of sun will shine on your sail away! sg1phileshipper Posted April 24, 2017 Author #71 Share Posted April 24, 2017 What a wonderful day we had. We were delayed for two reasons. We couldn't leave if the Silhouette didn't and she was delayed too. And they were still loading palets on the ship at 6. Maybe the underestimated all the food we'll need we'll need for this crossing. Had a wonderful dinner at Chops with the Bogo Promotion. Started with a King Caesar Then I had the 9 oz filet mignon medium rare and it was so good, cooked to perfection. My sides were asparagus, spinach, mushrooms and a baked potato And that onion bread is sooo good! Cruise director is Michele and he is amazing. Welcome aboard show was with the comedy of Jimmy Carol. He was hilarious. Tomorrow I'll be taking ship pictures. We also turn the clock one hour forward at noon and meet and mingle is in the star lounge at 2.45. Tickets for the ice show will be distributed between 8.30 and 10.30 and between 2 and 3. We are currently sailing at 20.3 knots. Going to catch some Zzzzz's, I am pretty tired! sg1phileshipper Posted April 24, 2017 Author #72 Share Posted April 24, 2017 (edited) Good morning from beautiful windjammer. It is very quiet in here at this time. But can you beat this view? The ship is moving and the wind is howling. It still looks grey outside, but it may get better. My breakfast this morning: And in case you're wondering, this is out for breakfast Cindy Edited April 24, 2017 by sg1phileshipper

sg1phileshipper Posted April 24, 2017 Author #75 Share Posted April 24, 2017 I have been wandering around the ship and I have to say that it's very windy. It's a very bad idea to wear a hat. Some places you really have to hold on not to fall. I have to say that Freedom handles the Atlantic beautifully! I ran into Super Mario at the Pool Deck. He will be changing ships in Barcelona for 6 months and he'll come back to the US on Freedom in October. He's a very nice and down to earth guy! For those who want to know what you can have for breakfast, here you go! Cindy
