Great Review! Loved the photos, but really loved your great attitude! Just goes to show that even when things don't go exactly like you expect them, you can still have a wonderful time and have fun.

On one of our cruises, we stopped at Key West and saw Manatees at the dock swimming round. And we also loved the key lime ice cream from Kermits. It was out of this world, good!

Thanks so much!!

Thank you for sharing your review! I have loved reading about all of your positive and fun experiences!

I, too, would have taken the deal on that jackpot of a cruise! Wow! It almost makes one wish that there would be some mechanical problems on a future cruise...almost! ;p

Glad you and your family had a great trip!

By any chance to you remember what deck number you embarked and disembarked from? Looking at planning maybe an October cruise for my husband and 2 small boys and we like to do self assist debark so wondering which deck that would be from.

Thanks again for doing this review - makes me really wish my 16 days would hurry up!

Thanks for the great review. Fantasy was our first cruise in 2004 and we were on her again this past December. Really like the layout of the Fantasy class. Glad y'all were treated so nicely.

I agree! I really liked the layout of the ship too. And I like the smaller ships because they seem less crowded. When were were on dream and magic there were lines everywhere. Don't get me wrong, I did like the dream and magic and hope to go on the breeze one day. But I did not like that the ships just seem too crowded.

Awe thanks so much. Yes it could have went from bad to worse starting with the birth certificate, but everything worked out. Most passengers on board that I encountered had the same attitude. I was just glad to get on the ship! The weather was great and I was not at work. Heck we could have stayed docked in mobile and as long as the red frog was open I was good! [emoji3]

You are welcome and I am glad you enjoyed it. And yes I would take that same deal again! I was more worried that they would cancel it and make me get off the ship. A cruise to nowhere was fine with me. Key west was just an added bonus.

I believe it was deck 7. We did self assist and it was so easy getting off the ship. We were on deck 5 and I think we had to go up 2 decks.

What was your favorite item in the MDR? For those of us waiting to cruise, what item are you looking forward to?

We ate in the MDR 3 nights and I did the $20 filet and lobster one night. They were both so good and worth the uncharge in my opinion. The shrimp on elegant night was good. I really did not have anything that I didn't like. The first 2 nights the wait staff was fine but our last night our waiter was awesome! I wish we had him the other nights. We could not decide what we wanted so he brought us several different apps and my husband 3 entrees. Every time we looked up he was there. He talked to us and we had alot of fun with him. I liked him so much that I asked for his card. Next time we are on Fantasy I will request him if he is still on the ship. His name was Manik4590a16c93ff06b8f2fafbd04681c61f.jpg

We were on the April 13th cruise out of Mobile to Cozumel with propulsion issues. I will start out with telling you a little about our cruise party. This was my 10th cruise, my husbands 8th cruise and my 10 year old sons 5th cruise. All on carnival. I am 44 and my husband is 50. We also brought along my brother in law and his girlfriend, this was their first cruise. I booked this cruise for a long weekend getaway over Easter and we only live 3 hours from mobile. This was my 2nd time on the Fantasy and 1st time sailing out of Mobile. We had originally planned to get up early Thursday morning and drive to the port but Wednesday night we were packed and ready so we decided to drive to mobile and get a room. We were ready to get the vacation started. Our checkin time was 12:00 and I prepaid our parking at the lot at the port a few weeks before our cruise. We arrived at the port at 11:15 and the line to get in the lot was very long. It moved pretty quick and when we got up close we talked to one of the workers and he said the ship was late getting in and everything was backed up because of that. By the time we unloaded and parked it was 11:50 and we headed to get checked in. We walked right in and the lines were not long at all. We got up to security right at 12 and they asked for our passport or birth certificates. As soon as it came out of her mouth my heart dropped and I realized I had left my sons birth certificate sitting in the counter at home! I had passports for me and my husband but in the hurry of leaving Wednesday I did not put his birth certificate in my purse. This was my 10th cruise and the 1st time this has ever happened!!! I have to say the workers in mobile are by far the nicest workers at any port I have been too. The lady saw the panic on my face as I was telling her I didn't have his documentation. She calmed me down, closed her line and told me to follow her and we would figure it out. She took me, husband and son to a lady at a desk behind one of the partitions. I was already running though in my mind who I thought would be willing to drive me his birth certificate to Mobile before the ship left at 4. I was panicked to say the least. The lady asked me if I had anyone that could text me a picture of his birth certificate. I said really??? She said no as long as they can see the whole birth certificate in the picture that would be fine. I almost cried. I always thought you had to have the original but I was not going to dare ask her that. So I called my neighbor, explained what had happened and she went and took a picture and texted it to me. I showed it to the lady and she said that was perfect. She gave me an email address and told me to send it to that email and they would print it and we would be good to go. I was still in disbelief that they were soooo nice and allowing me to do this. So I emailed it to the address she gave me and within 5 minutes I had a printed copy of his birth certificate. She then escorted us to the beginning of the line and waited with us for the person that checks you in and gives you your sail and sign cards. So we by passed that entire line and she explained the situation to this lady, No problem and checked us in, gave us our cards and off we went. I just can't say enough about how nice all 3 of these ladies were that helped us get on the boat. I texted my brother in law and they were up on the lido deck. They had only been on the ship about 10 minutes before us. So after all of that it still did not take us but about 35 minutes from the time we left our car to the time that we got our guys burger. I told my husband as we were eating this was going to be a great cruise!!! And boy was I right! More to come.....

I seriously felt tears in my eyes reading your birth certificate story. This is a huge fear of mine, and it is so refreshing when someone is just nice and actually helps.

The first time we cruised out of Mobile it was total chaos and we said never again. Then we did it a year later and it was wonderful. Will be cruising out of there next month on the Fantasy for the 3rd time.

I am looking at booking another on the Fantasy out of mobile with my 50 % off credit too

Awe!!! I felt those same tears living that story. That poor woman saw all the blood drain from my face when she asked for the birth certificate. I still can't believe how nice and accommodating they were.

Sounds like I better try the filet and lobster one night. My wife will probably love the Chocolate melting cake. We have not had that yet. Can't wait!!

Do they have steak and lobster on the 5 day cruises? By any chance do you have itenerary (SP ?) of shows and such?

They only do lobster on 7 nights and longer. I think I kept the funtimes. I will post pictures of them
