Passing along Sea Princess Laundry room info!

We absolutely loved it. She seemed so much newer then the Sun Princess was. We would book her again anyday, even with the tiny casino onboard. :)

Afraid that the irons/ironing boards, are no longer in the staterooms. We could see in the laundry rooms where half the washers and dryers had been taken out to install irons/boards there instead.

To bring up another subject. MUTS was not even bothersome. Wireless/small Headsets are provided in each stateroom and without them, you can't hear the sound during the day. I think they had to many complaints about the darned thing too loud all day long.

Hello Toto,

This is interesting. I have not seen this on the Sea before (or any other ships with MUTS). Is this something new and has it been "rolled out" to all ships that have the outside screen?

Thanks.

Note to self: Remember to check the date on the original post! As I was reading through this thread I kept thinking "I don't remember Toto saying anything about being on the Sea Princess recently." Then I realized the thread is over four years old. :D

I never gave that a thought!! OOPS :D

Saying that, I have been on the Sea P three times in the past 4 years and have never seen these on board! Maybe they have now got rid of them....

I will try to rememebr to read the dates of posts in the future1 I guess I just exepecetd it to be new..ish...;) Serves me right for making assumptions.....

I didn't see any wireless headsets for MUTS in our stateroom, and during the day the MUTS screen was blank or had soundless shots from the bridgecam, or soundless videos of parachutes, scenery, or abstract designs.

I assumed the thread was new also. Actually, I would like those headsets, too! Guess they didn't work out for some reason--probably something to do with money :)

LOL, I see someone has already figured out that my comments were made back in 2005. We sailed on the Sea Princess again in 2006, but for the life of me, I can't even remember if the headsets were still being used the following year. But it sounds like they don't use them anymore. I have to admit, it was very nice though when they did, as you could either listen to MUTS or not, your choice. ;)

Just returned from two weeks on the Sea Princess and thought I would let those of you that have an upcoming cruise that the washers and dryers are FREE onboard. The laundry rooms are very small, the one we used on Baja Deck had two small washers and two small dryers. But there is no charge for their useage. If you don't bring your own detergent, it can be purchased at the purser's desk for $1 per box (ALL is what they sell if any are particular). Of coarse there are also free irons and ironing boards in the self service laundry rooms, like on other Princess ships.

I know last year before the drydock the dryers were not drying well in any of the rooms. Did they appear to be new and working well ???

on the Aloha deck on the 6/1 cruise were working...but VERY slowly!! It took 45 minutes, at least, to dry the small load. My advice...if you can avoid it...take enought "basics" (in my mind underware! ;)) not to have to do laundry! If you have no other choice because of weight restrictions on luggage etc...then try and get there early and be prepared to check in often and/or just "hang out" there to "get it done"! Not fun...(it is hot and noisy) but sometimes necessary...and we did meet some nice passengers "in the room"!!! LuAnn

If they are still using the stack washers and dryers (as they were the last time we sailed), we found that very small loads could be washed and dried without problem. But since they were using undersized washers and dryers, many were trying to put way too many clothes in expecting them to dry in the same time it took to dry things at home with a big dryer. ;)

I stand guilty of picking a really old thread to continue with :)

Since i am new to this, what is the protocol or etiquette here generally ?

Is it ok to continue with a thread on a particular subject (for context), however old it is, or would it be better to start a new one (to avoid similar confusion) ?

Either. Do not feel guilty.

Hi,

I would suggest that its better to start a new thread than to pick one that is so old. That way, in the future, I won't look like such a plonker again for not noticing the date of the first thread! LOL

I now find myself looking at all of the thread dates so as not to make such a silly mistake again. Good job we can hide behind anonymity!! LOL
