21 year old traveling alone with 18 year old girlfriend

Hi folks,

 

A friend who knows I like cruising with Royal Caribbean asked me a question and I thought I'd check here to verify my understanding of the policy with anyone who might have first hand experience.

 

As the topic title states, my friend asked if their 18 year old daughter would be permitted to sail alone with her 21 year old boyfriend.

 

I checked the policy on Royal Caribbean's website and as far as I can tell, they shouldn't have any problem.

 

However, because this is Royal Caribbean, and I've seen enough weirdness with their website/IT, I thought it would be wise to look for confirmation here.

 

Anyone have first-hand experience with this want to chime in and either confirm or correct my interpretation of the policy?

Anyone less than age 21 can be in a stateroom with someone who is 21 and older.

 

From the website:

 

No Guest younger than the age twenty-one (21) will be assigned to a stateroom unless accompanied in the same stateroom by an adult twenty-one (21) years old or older. A guest's age is established upon the first date of sailing.

According to their website, 21 is the minimum age to book a cabin...as long as there is someone 21 or over, it looks like it'a go! As long as one of you is 21 , it should be fine.

They also say you have to be 21 to drink alcohol.
