Buffettlovertina Posted May 26, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2017 What are the chances a upsell fairy will call for a Carnival Legand Alaska cruise that sails June 20th? I took an inside with french doors and now and thinking I should have got a balcony...
bakersdozen12 Posted May 26, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2017 I had an inside w/ french doors booked for the 4/30/17 Legend cruise this year, and they called me 6 days before sail away with an upsell offer. I know that they called other people on that sailing too that week. As far as the chances of it happening, I have no idea. This was the first time in 5 cruises I've gotten an upsell call. easyboy Posted May 26, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 26, 2017 Unpredictable but if they do call, make sure you make known your intentions as soon as possible since it may be offered to others. Sent from my iPad using Forums
CruiserBruce Posted May 26, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 26, 2017 Absolutely no one is going to be able to answer your question. First, each cruise sells differently. Second, nobody here know the upgrade policies and procedures. ..they are secret. If you are counting on an upgrade to make your cruise satisfying, you are likely to be very unsatisfied. You need to make sure you book the level of cabin you can be happy with, and if you get upgraded, just be very happy with that. Because waiting for an upgrade can be an long and frustrating wait. DaveOKC Posted May 27, 2017 #7 Share Posted May 27, 2017 Upsells obviously depend on how well the ship is selling. On popular cruises, fewer (if any) are offered. We tend to travel in the "off peak" time and thus often get upsell offers. It also depends on the ship and categories you are looking at. For example, when we book a "mini-suite" on one of the larger HAL ships we often get upsell offers. On the smaller HAL ships (with much fewer full suites) we seldom get them.
