Transfer from Anchorage to Seward - Need some help

Has anyone here used a transfer service from Anchorage to Seward that you would recommend?

Haven't used a bus, but the train ride there is one of the best in the country.

You can do this with a rental car, one way, through Hertz. This won't be cheap. The train ride would be my next choice. The cruiseline offers a transfer, or there's several companies that offer shuttles. Like these guys: http://www.alaskacoach.com/routes/seward-anchorage.html

I can highly recommend PJ's taxi. Some cruise contracted train transfers are available. But I'd also be aware of more than just a transfer. Especially if short on time, or not a frequent visitor- Seward is a gem, loaded with potential activities. So, I would not booked based on price only if you want to take advantage of being there (which depends on the person, but I would never miss it)

OK, regarding the train, since we are in Anchorage for a couple days on our own, I assume we would have to taxi to the train station. But at the Seward end, how do we get to the port with all the baggage? Is there a shuttle, taxis?

Some cruiselines do transfer bags from the Seward depot to the ship.. When you drop off in the morning, ask.

 

There are taxis. I just walk my bag since I usually head to boat tours, then the vendor drops it off. If I don't have tags, vendor's store bags, then shuttle to the ship where I just check my bag around 6p

If it's just basic transportation you're looking for we've used this company from Seward-ANC when we haven't had time to take the train for an early same day flight and I know they do the reverse route that you need.
