SaltWaterGal Posted June 3, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 3, 2017 Title pretty much says it all - where's the best place (least crowded and decent food at no upcharge) to get a meal on Embarkation Day on the Breakaway? Bonus points if you can also tell me where to get the best photo op for the Statue of Liberty ;)
zqvol Posted June 3, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 3, 2017 As is true on most ships, go to the main dining room.
spidybabe Posted June 3, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 3, 2017 Hands down -the main dining room for lunch. They will try to send you to the buffet, but it's much nicer and quieter in the main dining room. We also get a kick out of no check coming at the end of the meal, and you just get up and leave. For photo ops, anywhere on deck. A NY sailaway is unbelievably beautiful, don't miss going under the Verrazano bridge it's unbelievable that the ship fits under. Again anywhere outdoors, higher the better Safe sailing
lawrat1982 Posted June 3, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 3, 2017 We went to margaritaville, i know you said no cost but there was seriously only one other table taken. We paid under 20 for the two of us. The food was good and if you are planning to go there at some point anyway. The drinks are great and are included in the beverage package if you have one. Also, if you want the least crowed buffet in the mourning it is great especially when the ship is moving.
Rare BirdTravels Posted June 3, 2017 #5 Share Posted June 3, 2017 We like Taste/Savor and make our plans now that we have access to the week's activities via iconcierge. We like to be on the deck 16 sun deck and watch the sights of Manhattan on the port side and switch to the starboard side for the SOL This was taken from 17 forward last week Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rare KeithJenner Posted June 3, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 3, 2017 We usually have lunch at o'Sheehans on embarkation day. More relaxed than the buffet, but quicker than the MDR so we can get on with enjoying the day.
ChelePA Posted June 19, 2017 #7 Share Posted June 19, 2017 We enjoyed O'Sheehan' s wings on embarkation. Also their Shepherd's pie, nachos, and artichoke/spinach dip. Then some yummy desserts :) We aren't very picky when it comes to food.
