Cathymichael16 Posted June 4, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 4, 2017 We are taking our first cruise this month on the Constellation-Mediterranean! Are all the excursions necessary or are some ports doable without taking the buses with the masses everywhere? :)
Rare cruisestitch Posted June 4, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 4, 2017 Hard to answer without knowing the ports
anniebea Posted June 4, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 4, 2017 It depends on the ports and what you want to do? We are doing the Venice to Rome Cruise departing June 15th and are only doing something organised in Naples. Dubrovnik - has easy access to the Town, Kotor has a local hop on/off sightseeing tours as does Malta so we are going to do our own thing in these ports. Rare villauk Posted June 4, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 4, 2017 Go and check out the ports of call board for Europe - there is a wealth of information regarding all of your ports of call ;).
Mr. Click Posted June 4, 2017 #5 Share Posted June 4, 2017 Also check out the roll call for your cruise. Another place with a wealth of information. We are not big fans of tours organized by the ship. The groups are too big and they cost me. We really prefer to form our own groups through our roll calls and just deal with reputable companies who know how to get you back in plenty of time. We have never had a close call on making the ship, even last March in Seoul when the 35km drive took over 2 hours we were still back in plenty of time because the guide knew his stuff.
