It doesn't matter how you have your S&S card funded, whether cash or credit card. They are going to charge you the 3%. You can just put cash down on the table if you want to avoid the fee.

Yes but only if you go to the tables or cage asking for the fund transfer from your S&S card.

There is no fee if you do the transfer yourself at the slot machines. But do be careful there is a daily limit to how much you can transfer daily and if the casino host notices the transfer without some slot play they my restrict your card from this option.

BTW the cash advance on a credit/debit card anywhere on board using crew members to interface is $5.50 or 5.5% whichever is greater. The on board ATM charges $6 per transaction on top of whatever or bank or credit card company charges for not using their ATM.

Can you verify that we're able to get it from the cage?

I was thinking of getting a bunch of gift cards at 10% off, then going to the tables and getting chips for the 3% fee, and then keep the 7% profit.

If I did that at a table, they might let me only do it once if I don't end up doing any gambling. But if I get it at the cage, I suppose I can just hold on to the chips for a while and then cash them in later and they wouldn't know I didn't play?

They will know at some point you didn't play as the dealers ask for your S&S card when you buy in at a table.

I do something of the same thing. I use Gift Cards (at a 10% savings) to fund my S&S account (at the kiosk). Then charge my chips at the table to play.

I don't think they will let you just but chips at the table and just not play or walk away. You may get away with it once, but that will be it.

Not only are they tracking your play at the table, they have started tracking your interactions at the cage. On the Elation, they required us to provide our S&S card for every transaction at the cage, from cashing in chips, getting my money out of the players account, to just simply making change from 2 - $20 bills to tip with the last day.

When we pressed the casino host about this, she informed us that this is a new fleet wide standard that is rolling out, and should be completed to all ships by end of June. It is being done to help Carnival track fraud, she claims more from an internal perspective than an external one. I am not so sure...

Do I have this correct?

The S&S card is what you put into the slot....no other card is issued.

On an upcoming cruse I will have $50 of non-refundable OBC.

I can charge $50 on my S&S card to my account at a slot machine, and this $50 will be a debit to my account. The $50 non-refundable OBC will cover this debit....so my balance will be $0

Then, I can charge "whatever I want" to my account at the slot (within their limits...but I gamble so it will be used at the machines) and there is no fee (no 3% etc). So, over the course of the cruise, if I put $1000 on my card, my bill will only be for that $1000.

Am I right?

Thanks...

We have been doing this forever but why don't you download the money to your card from a slot and spin once and cash out and go to the cage and cash out. It'll save you the 3%.

We get citi deals $500 cards for $450 and bring like maybe 10 per cruise, it saves me $500 per cruise. It takes the sting out of losing and any leftover cash we just cash out and take home with us

It's a specific card. Google citideals and see if that's the card you have

What's the daily limit for loading funds at the machines?

Was 1 spin for each download sufficient?

Were you ever questioned at the cage?

When is the last time you did this?

I was also looking to bring several thousand in gift cards just like you.

Thanks in advance!

I think the limit is high like $3000 per day or something like that

We gamble so it's never one spin for us. BUT I can say for a FACT if you do this and don't play the casino will cut you off and your card will not work. This happened to me and the casino host had to get the casino manager to approve it so I could gamble. They are onto this as a means for a free ATM.
