Hi Kikki

So glad the pics are legible!

The Sonor show was amazing! It is definitely worth the (minimum) €15 entrance fee. I can't speak for the 'Mediterranean Dream' cocktail as they didn't serve it due to it being a preview show.

So I have a few minutes while we wait for the show to start to share a couple more random observations.

We were able to walk into YC from elevator on deck 14 today. We were so surprised that we took the stairs up to deck 16 just to check if we had really accessed the enclave without clearance from our cards or wristbands. Sure enough, we arrived at the concierge desk 2 flights up.

There is still some misinformation floating around. e.g. On our first day the barman in Brass Anchor couldn't confirm if the food was included for YC guests unless we ordered so he could swipe our card and see if the system charged our account.

Next day we were in Jean Pierre cafe and saw the asst bar manager who we know well. We asked him about this. He went off with my card, came back and said Yes you have to pay We decided to have fish & chips there anyway when we were told No YC DO NOT PAY (Sorry for caps autocorrect )

Interruption as show is starting. Will continue later!

Apparently there are problems with their systems not having correct settings for what's included and not.

Helenb .............. I have found out for definite that the pastries, specialist coffees & hot chocolate, the ice-cream and crepes - all of which are served in the Jean-Philippe venues are not included either for YC guests or those with a premium package as it is a separate franchised concept and everything is charged there. The gelato, soft-serve ice-cream and sundaes in the Atmosphere and Polar bars are, however, included.

Dpal ............ I saw inside the cabin next door to yours as it was being cleaned when I went down to have a look. It's the same as ours. I'll post a pic when my phone lets me (I'm having problems with it right now!). There is a large glass door directly opposite your cabin which is the access point for YC. I wouldn't be too concerned as there seems to be a few entrances so that one won't be used much I shouldn't think. If I get a chance I'll try explore it further.

No pics of food as we're only having burgers and y'all know what they look like.

We are going ashore today for the first time since we embarked! We're taking the ship's excursion to Pompeii. Will let you know how we got on, Nikki. ☺

Hey Bea, Looks like you're enjoying Meraviglia and her YC. New ship kinks are common for the first several sailings so I would never book an inaugural cruise but as you're experiencing they still have a way to go before everything functions as it should. I just booked our first Meraviglia cruise for long-off October 2018 because we've got two others already on the calendar. In any case we're looking forward to seeing this first MSC mega-ship, obviously in Yacht Club! Thanks for your on-going review.

Bea - thanks so much about the spa info - it all sounds fantastic. We are debating staying on the ship on one port call to enjoy the facilities! Hope Pompeii is a good excursion for you! [emoji4]

Hi Bea,

Thank you for your efforts to give us real picture and atmosphere of the ship. We will be in Meraviglia's YC in 47 days, and we can't wait. We understand situation with the lines for MDR, and lot of other small inconsistencies in this particular moment, because everything is new not only for us, but for the crew also. We saw that in January 2009 with MSC Fantasia.

Explanation could be summarized in this very good SAP marketing video witch will explained a lot of problems in this very moment https://youtu.be/miKQMGJ8uSA.

From our previous MSC cruises we learned that there is Allegrissimo (24 hours selected drinks) and Allegrissimo Premium (24 hours ALL available drinks) as separate packages. OK

From your today's pictures it's obvious that there is "Super Premium" selection of drinks in bars around the ship. Does it mean that this selection is not included even in Allegrissimo Premium?

This was our first question.

Second question is: asterisk signed drinks on bar menu in bars around the ship, are they available for free for YC guests? This drinks are obviously already included in YC special part of the ship.

Our third question is: Cirque shows entrance is 15€ with or without cocktail? Entrance fee is obligatory?

Thank you a lot, and have a very unforgettable cruise. ❤️you

DTL ..... The 2 asterisked items are not included in any package. YC guests get premium (now known as deluxe) so all items with 1 asterisk are ok except in Jean-Philippe venues where they have no agreement with MSC to allow inclusions.

Show prices are €15 p.p with cocktail or €35 pp with dinner. They are the only 2 options.

We're dining in Butcher's Cut tonight so will get first-hand experience of whether or not YC guests have drinks included. I'll ask about those with drinks packages too but I don't trust a lot of the answers I'm getting so far as they keep changing from day to day.

Thank you for this additional info Bea. One thing I forgot to ask about the Cirque show was something you pointed out as in the cocktail drinkers seemed to be seated closer to the round stage than those who had purchased the meal package? How did that pan out?

Excited that you are off to Butcher's Cut tonight as I may want to try this restaurant so pics of the menu would be awesome - thank you so much again. You are answering so many questions!

We are traveling with friends who are celebrating an anniversary- we wondered about Butchers Cut as a treat whilst watching the parade. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts x

We were first in to the theatre due to the butler escort so we had the pick of seats. At first we chose the 3rd row then changed to the 1st. I began to wonder if we'd made a mistake but the room was filling fast so we stayed put even though it looked like we might have to crane our necks looking up at the stage. Boy, am I glad we didn't move. As far as I'm concerned we had the best seat in the house! I had the end seat beside the aisle where one of the performers would jump from and to the stage - frightened the life out of me when he did. Then again when he moved beside my seat as I'd thought he had gone up through the rows behind me LOL. It was at a point in the show where the room is darkened and it was an unexpected move. It was just a small part of a wonderful, sensory experience.

I would describe the show as futuristic. Cirque has never really appealed to me before. We were in Vegas when one of their top shows was on and we didn't bother. I've never watched them when Sky Arts broadcasts them on TV. But this show was, for me, anyway, mind-blowing. It was a truly visual and aural experience and I had a strange emotional feeling at one point that I can only attribute to the choice of music being played at the time of what was happening on the stage.

There were some acts similar to what we've seen in the regular theatre before. You know, like the rope from the ceiling where someone wraps themselves round it and does all sorts of contortions? But this had much more impact as the show is staged to play on all your senses in an incredibly clever way.

Have I said yet that I liked the show?!?!!!

Thank you so much, Beamafar, for finding out the 'pastry situation'! Even though your answer is not what I had hoped, the information is still much appreciated.

And DTL, thank you for posting that SAP video! It was really interesting! I look forward to seeing similar videos about Seaside...

Now to the drinks situation in speciality restaurants.

I had a discussion with a head waiter who had been our waiter in YC on Divina who we got to know really well so I was able to get a very clear answer to the questions around this subject.

YC guests and those with all-inclusive drinks packages, both basic and deluxe, have only a choice of 1 red, 1 white and 1 rosè wine by the glass, water and soft drinks included! No beer!!

He very kindly reserved a particular table we chose earlier this evening when we went to check out the place. He doesn't work in that restaurant but has arranged to meet so he can escort us to ensure we get the place we've picked. Just thought I'd share the nice gesture here.

Aren't the MSC YC staff just the best!!!! Can you tell us which ones from Divina are now on the Meraviglia? Thanks for your reviews.
