Hi Ken ..... Sorry I didn't reply sooner. Thanks for dropping by. Hope you had a great cruise, yourself. I see the ports survived your visit, anyway!

We had a great cruise, Bea! Left some port stuff for you to visit!;p

One thing l noticed; MSC has changed the MDR menu format from 6 courses to 3. If you know the ropes you can, of course, select more than 1 from each course. Oh, also, there was no upcharge option at dinner any night! We had great tablemates and had a ball. Sail on, Bea! Sail on!

Bea....thank you for taking the time to pay it forward and enlighten us with details of your findings. Looking forward to our first cruise on MSC in January on the Seaside, which will be in the YC. Is there a standard dinner menu that remains the same each day in the YC restaurant that may happen to include basic fare like a filet mignon or broiled chicken breast? My GF does not eat any seafood or mushrooms and the last menu posted would leave her with one choice for starter and one choice for main. Otherwise, it would be a lot of room service pizza ordered....that is free for YC guests, right? Thanks again,

The YC menu on Divina is substantially different from the menus Bea is sharing. I am hoping this menu is geared towards European tastes and the menu will lean more gourmet American on Seaside. We are taking my in-laws and they are staunchly in the meat and potatoes park. I like more diversity but some of these I would be trying blind. That's nor necessarily a bad thing, but I wouldn't be excited with these menus.

Oh...you are preaching to the choir big-time. All 30 of my previous to MSC cruises have been on various this side of the pond Cruise lines. I chose the Seaside because I wanted a taste of the good life sailing in the YC, but at a reasonable price doing an inside.

With so much of the menu leaning towards seafood, I was hoping that it was because the cruise was on a European line sailing in Europe and that the Seaside would have a more Americanized menu, but with a European flair. I hope my assumption is true, otherwise there will be many pizzas ordered between 800 and midnight.

I hope you are right because those menus are not for me.

Looks like champagne by the glass is included in the bar menu as it only has one star by it. I am happy! :)

You're going to be even happier (you too, sverigecruiser!) when I tell you that you even have a choice in the Champagne Bar on deck 7. I got a photo of the list last night. It's not a very good one. I'll post it anyway in case I don't get a chance to get a better one. If I do, for sure I'll post it, too.

This is the one served in Butcher's Cut also included for YC and deluxe package

........... and this is what's available in the rest of the bars, including the Top Sail lounge.

A couple of photos from our visit to Butcher's Cut last night. Both DH and I had the House Chop salad, DH had the filet mignon and we both had the cheesecake, all of which I've posted photos previously. This time I had rack of lamb:

For all you serious carnivores here is what the fridge which displays the various cuts looks like

I've also posted a pic of the champagne served here. We had a glass as an aperitif - it's very nice!

THANKS!

I was happy when I saw that they had Nicolas Feuillatte available by the glass and I was prepared to pay for. Now it's included, even better!

Nicolas Feuilatte is an okay Champagne which I should be very happy with but now you are telling me that they also have Laurent-Perrier by the glass, included!

Laurent-Perrier is one of our favourites so I hope that they have many of them on board!

Kikki......... I may not get a chance to post about the excursions today. As it's our last day on-board and we're at sea - so all the shops and bars (and casino LOL) are open - I may not have the time to get around to it.

Lol Bea - one of my other questions was how is the casino & are the slots nice & loose?! [emoji12]

The first few days were good. I got to the magic 1200 points for the 30% future cruise discount AND was up €100 at the time! Unfortunately my luck ran out and I've spent my casino budget already! However the 30% + 5% discount may be worth a whopping €4700 to us if I can book the cruise I have in mind. At the moment the Voyagers Club rep isn't authorised to sell cruises onboard so I have to wait til I get home to check availability.

Hi Bea,

I was wondering.... how much did you spend to get those 1200 points?? If it's not too much it sounds like an excellent deal!!

I just played with the winnings from the payout reels. I transferred €100 to the machine from my on-board account to begin and just played away. By the time I had accumulated 1200 points I had €200 credit - €100 stake and €100 winnings.
