margaritadenise Posted June 24, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2017 What time does everyone have to be off the ship when we return to San Juan? We have a late 4 PM flight. Any suggestions on what we can do to kill some time until our flight leaves?

MN55442 Posted June 24, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 24, 2017 There are two excursions that are offered for San Juan that include storing your luggage and airport drop off by RCI. Also a restaurant called Barrachinos in Old San Juan that offers free luggage storage for cruisers. So you could tour OSJ without your luggage and take a taxi from there to the airport. gerif Posted June 24, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 24, 2017 Everyone needs to be off the ship by 9:30-10:00. Suggest a ship tour.

DonnaK Posted June 24, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 24, 2017 We did the ship's tour to the rainforest. It was very good!
mattpro Posted June 25, 2017 #7 Share Posted June 25, 2017 There is a tour of Condado & Old San Juan that takes about 2 1/2 hours which you can sign up for when you go outside after clearing immigration. Walk to the left outside about 100 feet and you will see a tour booth. In Old San Juan they drop you off at the main plaza where you have an hour to shop or get something to eat. They pick you back up where they left you off. They charge $25 for a single and after the tour they drop you off at your airline at the airport. Costs the same as a taxi ride, so the tour is actually free.

cruiseguy1016 Posted June 25, 2017 #9 Share Posted June 25, 2017 I can recommend two things. One, take the ship's tour of the Baccardi Rum factory. Your luggage will be stored on the bus while you are doing the tour. After the tour, you and your luggage will be transported to the airport. Another fun thing to do is a Segway tour of Old San Juan. They will store your luggage while you are on the tour. When you're done, grab a taxi and head for the airport.
Nado44 Posted June 25, 2017 #10 Share Posted June 25, 2017 Look into getting a day pass at one of the swanky hotels. We've gotten into the habit of doing this post-cruise as it's a great way to have the needed "mini-vacation" after the cruise vacation. This also means booking late afternoon or early evening return flights.

kjunea Posted June 25, 2017 #12 Share Posted June 25, 2017 Also, be aware that the airport won't let you start going through it until you are less than 4 hours before your flight. If your tour gets you there sooner than that, there is a sports bar at the airport, but not in the airport that you can sit at and have a beer/drink, watch TV, etc. But with you having a 4:00 flight, I think you will be fine.
