Jaylie Posted July 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 16, 2017 Can someone recommend a hotel near pier 91 in Seattle. We'll be taking our first cruise to Alaska and have never been to Seattle. The ship is Ruby Princess and our cruise goes out on September 9th. Also, how far is the airport from the pier? Our flight is at noon on the day we disembark. Thanks for your help! CruiserBruce Posted July 16, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 16, 2017 If you look on the West Coast Departures board, where Seattle is covered, here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=413 as this has nothing to do with Princess, you will see all your questions are discussed daily. There are no hotels near Pier 91, but there are many hotel recommendations. 11am is the earliest recommended flight, so 12 is fine. The airport is about 30 minutes away. Colo Cruiser Posted July 16, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 16, 2017 https://www.silvercloud.com/seattlelakeunion/ We stay at the Silver Cloud on Lake Union. They have an excellent free breakfast buffet. It's 5 miles from the pier and they have a shuttle. Sea-Tac airport is 16 miles from the pier.

molme Posted July 16, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 16, 2017 We stayed at the Hampton Inn and Suites Downtown. About a five minute taxi or shuttle ride to the port. We were within walking distance to the Space Needle and there was a grocery store on the next corner where we were able to buy last minute things for our cruise (wine). We were very pleased with this hotel and its location.
Cruiserkenn Posted July 16, 2017 #6 Share Posted July 16, 2017 Both of the above hotel recommendations sound great! I like the Seatac Marriott, but that is because I love their room service. Enjoy your cruise!
peety3 Posted July 16, 2017 #7 Share Posted July 16, 2017 Since when did sailing on Ruby Princess have nothing to do with Princess? The question is for a hotel near Pier 91 in Seattle. The answers are exactly the same no matter which ship or which line the person is sailing. The answers best come from those who have departed on the West Coast, not necessarily those who have cruised Princess. Hence it belongs in the West Coast Departures board. Rare Cruise Raider Posted July 16, 2017 #9 Share Posted July 16, 2017 Can someone recommend a hotel near pier 91 in Seattle. We'll be taking our first cruise to Alaska and have never been to Seattle. The ship is Ruby Princess and our cruise goes out on September 9th. Also, how far is the airport from the pier? Our flight is at noon on the day we disembark. Thanks for your help! I agree with the post that recommended the Hampton Inn Downtown. Also, when going back to the airport, they have a flat fee taxi from Pier 91 for $40 per car. The line was long when we did this but gave us an opportunity to see if someone else wanted to share a cab, so we did. If you use this option, just be sure to ask the the $40 flat rate. We noticed the cab driver had his meter running and it would have run $55 otherwise. I know Uber is also a pretty decent option in Seattle, btw. We did that once and it was really inexpensive. Also, the city of Seattle is picking up the fees that are normally charged by the cruiseline for EZ check or Luggage Valet ... whatever it is called on Princess. So, you can save yourself a lot of hassle (and time) by using this free service if your flight time and airline qualify. Have a great cruise in Alaska!! I almost always book for Sept and it has proven to be a great month to go (for me, anyway).
