BrianI Posted August 2, 2017 #26 Share Posted August 2, 2017 If you have an aversion to using cards then the only option you have is to pay cash. Brian
claudiniusmaximus Posted August 2, 2017 Author #27 Share Posted August 2, 2017 You may be right - we shall see. (Ps I don't have an aversion to debit cards just credit cards. I'm trying to avoid the preauthorisation on my debit card wiping out my balance in my current account while also avoiding using a credit card - therein lies the rub). If we have to swap cards three days before and only have three days of preauthorisation that's manageable. I updated the thread partly for others' information. Tacu Posted August 2, 2017 #28 Share Posted August 2, 2017 I had a lot of credit card debt in my youth. I still have a credit card but it's mainly used for online purchases these days because of previous transgressions and I have no idea what the PIN is ... should be interesting when I come to settle my bill :)
jeanlyon Posted August 3, 2017 #29 Share Posted August 3, 2017 I always use a credit card, then you have time to pay it when you get back. Fred Olsen make a charge for cc but not P&O.
