Coral Princess Plumbing issues

If anyone has cruised on the Coral recently could you report if there were any plumbing issues? I have read in a few threads there have been problems with public restrooms closed and plumbing leaks in hallway and cabins with the smell of sewage? Thanks

Were they old reviews? There were issues for the first couple of cruises following dry dock in January 2016 but I had not heard of anything since. We were on the Coral twice last year and did not experience any issues with the plumbing in our cabins. On our February 2016 cruise, there was a faint smell of sewage near the bathrooms on deck 5 but only when the door was propped open. And on that same cruise some of the ceiling tiles were down in places in the hallways as they continued to work on the prior plumbing issues. But we didn't notice anything amiss during our May 2016 cruise.

We have observed plumbing issue's on almost every cruise we have been on.

Be it a public rest room, cabins, lounges etc.

We have also had issues ourselves at times including the Coral in October 2015.

If we based our cruising on that and what we have seen onboard we would never cruise.

As Keith mentioned, it's hard to find a ship that does not have plumbing issues somewhere on the ship - it's just the nature of the plumbing systems that they need constant 'tinkering', plus the continuing ignorance of some passengers about what should never be flushed down a ship's toilet. We've had plumbing problems in our own cabin in probably 20% of the cruises we've been on - all different ships, different lines. The worst was a toilet overflow in our cabin, but even that they managed to get completely fixed, carpet clean & dried by the end of the day.

 

We didn't let it ruin our cruise or even our day - just stayed out of the way and let them handle the problem. We got a nice bottle of wine as a thank you for our patience.

Usually a dry dock had nothing to do with plumbing issues.

They are fixed while the ship is under way.

Sewage smells happen on every ship at some time or another...it's simply the way ship's plumbing works. It's not only one cruise line or ship that has this issue.

Usually it resolves on it's own....sometimes, you have to pour water down the floor drain in the bathroom to keep sewer gas from coming out....sometimes, it's because people flush stuff they shouldn't...like tissues, or tampons, or diapers....only toilet paper should go in the toilet....

We were on the Coral in February and had no issues. Have a wonderful cruise! :cool:

Cruised Coral November 2016 and no issues plumbing or other wise. I would venture to say 95% of plumbing issues are caused by guests who plain out don't think. As gen old saying goes Happens!
