Master Echo Posted July 31, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 31, 2017 Hot off the Press via SS’s London Office. It has been agreed, although I think reluctantly from Monaco, that all passengers who have/or will be cruising on the Silver Muse from voyages 6705-6719 inclusive, will be offered $500 SBC. We have had to ask why Cruise no. 6703 is not included, it being the Inaugural and the first fare-paying cruise on the Muse in April, and on which we travelled. I do not think as I write, that Monaco has decided how this sum will be credited to those SS passengers who have already finished their cruise. The ’new’ dress code which will revert to the old system of a ship wide attire is to be implemented from Cruise No. 6721, which departs from FLL on October 13. The Restaurant changes will be happening in September although no definite date has been given. The Atlantide bar will be removed to make more space for dining. There will also be a menu change in Indochine to feature more traditional Asian food such as Indian and Thai curry and it will also include some dishes from the Atlantide menu. To reduce the cavernous proportions of Dolce Vita, they will be utilising screens, to give it a more intimate ambience. This seems to differ from some comments from other posters who have been told different stories, and maybe Miami, Monaco and London SS offices have not coordinated their ‘company line’. Indeed I hear from the London office that the emails emanating from Monaco were confusing and unclear. Should I hear any further comments on this subject, I will of course post them. Kindest regards Master Echo
Rare TLCOhio Posted July 31, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 31, 2017 Appreciate this interesting info from the Silversea main office. WOW!! Lots of good questions about certain "fine-tuning" on a ship that is so new and supposedly well-planned. Look forward to hearing more. THANKS! Enjoy! onetravelbug Posted July 31, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 31, 2017 We are on the 6718 cruise, so it will be interesting to see if and when some of the changes take place. I'll post our cruise information with a emphasis on any changes taking place. I am sure the ship's officers will have more information as it will be the last "full" cruise in September ending on September 28th.

ketjupiter Posted August 1, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 1, 2017 I assume this proposed $500 credit will only be allowed for future sailings and not our upcoming trip on the Muse? Our group is traveling on the Muse with 3 cabins on 6715 (11 night Monte Carlo to Lisbon). would be great if we could use it on our trip in just 2 weeks. Very much looking for our trip and will comment either while on board, or after we return.

les37b Posted August 1, 2017 #7 Share Posted August 1, 2017 Thanks for the update Master Echo. That seems crazy they missed your voyage off the list. It must be an oversight I'm sure. I did question a while ago how it would be possible to increase the capacity in Atlantide, now I can see how. It will be a shame to lose that bar though. I wonder if the Indochine bar will be removed too?...... and how this will all be achieved without impact. From other posts made it sounds like this is being done at sea (from memory) during the TA. Hmmm I think this may cause friction if it is the case. Will be interesting to see how Dolce Vita will be accomplished . It certainly needs changing for sure. Emtbsam Posted August 1, 2017 #8 Share Posted August 1, 2017 It is good that 'management" listened to the negative comments. Too bad that the change in dress code will happen after our cruise and also too bad that they will need to remove the bars from Atlantide and possible Indochine. I thought they were an interesting change to the usual restaurant set up. At least they have reverted to a MDR format which should certainly make it more attractive for singles to travel on the Muse. Rare Silver Spectre Posted August 1, 2017 #12 Share Posted August 1, 2017 Been in touch with SS London office today and was given no information about the $500 credit. The removal of the bar in Atlantide will apparently allow space for 4 extra tables only, but they are going to change some of the bench seats to allow some further space. No comment on exactly when this will happen yet. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Stumblefoot Posted August 1, 2017 #13 Share Posted August 1, 2017 No comment on exactly when this will happen yet.If I wear a betting man, I'd say it'll be done during the Montreal to Ft. Lauderdale sailing. SS isn't going to want to transport construction workers back from Santiago, Chile. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
seaquay Posted August 2, 2017 #14 Share Posted August 2, 2017 Just spoken to my TA as sailing end of August on the Muse who has been advised by SS that its not an on board credit but money off future cruise booking, and for new bookings only. I live in the UK so is there one offer for USA cruisers and one for UK cruisers going on here? Also was on 6703 and wonder why they think that does not deserve the same treatment

hypercafe Posted August 2, 2017 #16 Share Posted August 2, 2017 Guess everyone has their own likes and dislikes. I was looking forward to my upcoming trip on the Muse as she is now. I really liked the idea of a dress code applying to a specific restaurant and the reservation system made no difference to me. I believe it speaks volumes for Silversea management that they tried to be innovative, listened to their guests and are willing to modify their new ship and change direction. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I am giving them credit for being responsive. Have done so on two posts. I cannot give them credit for trying something new that was obviously a stupid idea to begin with, especially when concocted by supposed cruise specialists who should know better. travelingduo Posted August 6, 2017 #19 Share Posted August 6, 2017 This is what we received from our SS agent: As a gesture of goodwill for the recent changes to the Silver Muse’s dining experience, we will offer you a $1000 shipboard credit to be used on new reservations for the below voyages. Please let me know which sailing appeals to you and I will gladly apply the credit to your new reservation. Eligible voyages: 6718, 6721, 6723, 6801-6806, 6810-6811, 6824, 6833 and 6834. les37b Posted August 6, 2017 #20 Share Posted August 6, 2017 (edited) Muse sailings: 6718, 6721, 6723, 6801-6806, 6810-6811, 6824, 6833 and 6834 This was pasted from an email with my consultant - which matches travelingduo - though it wasn't an official email - just one in response to my Spirit charge for it to be added to - but it was for $500 not a $1000. I'm wondering if it's your TA that's added an extra $500 to make it $1000? Because of other issues, I've been told I can have it for a proposed change I'd enquirer about, though since I'm looking at a Muse cruise that's in that range, can you confirm if that's a SS email that's been forward to you? Jolly good news if that's officially what it is. Might make the Muse cruise my number 1 preference if it's the case. les37b Posted August 7, 2017 #22 Share Posted August 7, 2017 Is that $1,000 OBC in addition to the $1,000 OBC already being offered on some of those voyages? I was given that list by my consultant and for those who've travelled on the Muse in the first 6 months as per the email master Echo (I think) posted. That email said it was $500 as did the email I received just confirming which it was valid with. It's the first time I've heard $1000 mentioned. This is confusing! Did you see $1000 mentioned anywhere Stumblefoot? I've never been sent an official email for the Muse thing or info on the Spirit cancellations and what the offer is either. Stumblefoot Posted August 7, 2017 #23 Share Posted August 7, 2017 This is confusing! Do you see $1000 mentioned anywhere Stumblefoot?I pulled up 4 voyages and 3 of the 4 showed $1,000 OBC for all new bookings. The amount had nothing to do with an additional offer to those who had sailed on the Muse previously. I just wanted to be sure their TA was actually providing them an incremental $1,000 OBC and not just the existing $1,000 OBC promotion in the marketplace. biggersn Posted August 7, 2017 #24 Share Posted August 7, 2017 Is it possible that the SS $500 OBC offer is per person, making it $1000 OBC per cabin, assuming that there are two occupants per cabin?

In that case it would appear to be in addition. It doesn't show it on the one I'm looking at and is in that range. I'm wondering if that offer may be US only. What's an example of it? Edit: I just used a VPN and it's not showing on a couple I looked in that range.... though interestingly I have just spotted another possibility to chose from for the Spirit cancellation which is actually better than the one I'd picked as it's an extra 4 days though I've done a fair few of the ports.
