Cruzinram Posted August 1, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 1, 2017 Is a 0913 departure from Southampton Central station doable. First time overrun the QM2 and not sure when we will be able to get off and be on our way
cruiseluvva Posted August 1, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 1, 2017 If you self disembark then yes - probably. If you don't carry ALL your bags off yourself, in one go, very early, then it depends on your cabin grade and deck.

First time overrun the QM2 and not sure when we will be able to get off and be on our way When we got the train to Durham there was 1 every 30 minutes. If you get off the ship first you might make it depending what time they let you off. Sent from my Kestrel using Forums mobile app
Lanky Lad Posted August 1, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 1, 2017 I would recommend trying for the next train if there is one. Sent from my HTC Desire 320 using Forums mobile app

First time overrun the QM2 and not sure when we will be able to get off and be on our way No way! as others have said only by a 'Self Disembarkation'. Diamond and Grill gusts are the first to be called for a 'standard disembarkation' usually between 8.45/9.15am.
insanemagnet Posted August 2, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 2, 2017 It is easy enough to get off when you want, although I suspect I would be shot for mentioning how.
Bell Boy Posted August 2, 2017 #7 Share Posted August 2, 2017 Usually a call is made for self disembarkation as soon as the ship has been cleared of all shore side formalities, often around 7am /ish You MUST visit the front desk the evening before to pick up a self disembarkation card, advise them that you opt for early/self disembarkation and to show that you are 'fit enough to carry off all your luggage in one go'. You'll need to show this card to the 'guide/ crew member', before you reach 'security at the door'. There have been others on here who say there is no need for the self disembarkation card, however, I've often seen folk turned back without one ( otherwise we'll have everyone disembarking before their appointed call time)

First time overrun the QM2 and not sure when we will be able to get off and be on our way Only possible using self disembarkation which we successfully did off the Queen Victoria in June. This started at 7am approx. but we lingered to 7:30, got a taxi without any problems and in fact just missed the 0813 departure to Gatwick/London Victoria. As safeguard suggest flexible train tickets.
