How does MTD work

Recommended Posts

hi all

We have opted for MTD and wondered how this works as we will probably want to go same time everyday

Do you contact royal before or do it wen u board or on the first night

Also do I then have the same table every night

You can either:

a. go to dinner when you are hungry; there may be a short wait (just as if you turned up at a restaurant on land with no reservation)

b. prebook any or all of your dining times beforehand via your cruise planner online.

c. book your dining time for the following evening as you leave the dining room each night.

I have found on my recent cruises that even with MTD we were allocated a table and we were seated at the same one each night, which to me takes the 'fun' out of MTD. I like getting different servers, sitting in different areas, with different outlooks, and having different neighbours. On our last cruise our neighbours were so rude and didn't even acknowledge us any evening. JMHO.

You may think you want to dine at 7pm every night but until you get on board you don't know what the activities/shows times are. There may be a quiz that you like doing scheduled for that time for example....

If you make a reservation for the same time each night, they will try to give you the same table, but sometimes they are unable.

Do you mean people (strangers) sitting at the same table as you were rude and didn't acknowledge you, or do you mean people sitting at a completely separate table?

I would agree with you if it's at the same table, but not if it's a different table. We don't acknowledge people sitting at tables around us, and don't expect them to acknowledge us. I don't feel that's rude at all.

Sometimes the tables are so close that they virtually the same table.
