Thanks to Whitshel for the review its very helpful and fun to follow, and thanks to everyone who has replied to my questions. You all sound like you have a wealth of knowledge between you so one more question if you don't mind. Upon return to Miami we will have quite a few hours to kill as our flight back to the UK isn't until 6.35pm. Would it be worth us booking a ship excursion to pass time or would we be able to find something to do ourselves? The only problem is we will have all our luggage :-( Any ideas/recommendations welcome :-)

If you take the metro mover in Miami there is a stop for Bayside and there are many restaurants at Bayside Marketplace and a CVS across the street) a longer ride is Brickell and there is a Publix right there. There is a taco place right near that stop that looked AMAZING that we never got to try!

Does the metromover stop close to the hotel? If so which stop would we board at? :)

I had the lobster bisque, scallop something, the lobster, and a strawberry crepe. My wife had the lobster and both dessert soufles. Then we watched the glass show which is awesome!

Gotta keep it short, using my 90 free minutes but I will have service in Mexico for tomorrow and Thursday.

Enjoying your review. Anticipating my 2 nd Equinox cruise this year beginning on September 15. I celebrated my birthday on Equinox in May and am returning to celebrate our anniversary in September. Your posts are showing everything I love about cruising on Celebrity. BTW, who is the current CC host and current CD?

We too are on the September 15 sailing and also Jazz Fest cruise April 2018. We haven't done Caribbean cruise in at least 20 years, but have been on Equinox for Europe sailings. We love the Solstice class ships.

I month from today, fun in the sun !

I think most excursions would still drop you at the airport too early. I would check into renting a car they have shuttles that would pick you up at the port then you could drop the car at the airport. You could then do your own sight seeing, beach. lunch etc.

Telnshell, our flight back to the UK is not till 9pm, we looked at the ship excursions ( we did the Everglades 1 last time from FLL it was really good) and they still left us with a lot of time so we have booked the Pullman hotel for the day which has easy access to the Dolphin mall

Enjoying the review

I am loving your posts, thanks for sharing your vacation with us! We are sailing on the Equinox in October for a 10 day southern Caribbean itinerary. If you have a chance, will you please post a photo of the beverage menu from the Gastro Bar? My DH would like to know what beers they have available.

Not quite sure we only went from Brickell to Bayside! However you can use this website to find a map and it lists each station and what places of interest are near the stop!

When we were actually in Miami I just googled MetroMover on my iPhone and there was a page that came up that told me how many minutes the next metro mover would be that was iPhone friendly as well!

Try the Python Hunting Adventure. The Everglades are over-run with Reticulated, Rock, and Burmese pythons. Florida will pay minimum wage to qualified snake hunters to kill pythons.

Have an adventure and make minimum wage! What more could you want for a day?

We used the Omni stop, it's less than a block away.

Was the casino open the first night from Miami to Key West? Not sure how far off shore they go.
I did not use the casino so I'm not really sure but I wanna say yes. I'm sure they don't want to lose out on the revenue
