tempus137 Posted August 14, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 14, 2017 how many cruise next certificates can you use per room when booking? One per cabin, although they sometimes have a promotion where you can use two if you book a balcony or higher at least 6 months out.
don't-use-real-name Posted August 14, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 14, 2017 how many cruise next certificates can you use per room when booking? Normally -1- per cabin - but from time to time NCL allows 2 on certain promo destinations. If in a Suite or Haven class cabin 2 maybe used. In any event check with NCL for the answer or your TA who may have to ask NCL. For the OP - go to the NCL site and login check your MY ACCOUNT for the certificate numbers Again check with NCL for the history of the certificates if things are not in order. Don't wait on this NCL may have misapplied the cruise credits - you wait you lose if not corrected !

dacsmom Posted August 15, 2017 #7 Share Posted August 15, 2017 How do you get these? You buy them onboard, they usually have a BOGO so they are a great deal.
don't-use-real-name Posted August 15, 2017 #8 Share Posted August 15, 2017 How do you get these? The Cruise Next office/desk on the ship is usually located near the Shore Excursions desk. Check with the NCL person within or ask the SX people ? There will be a form to fill out to purchase the certificates usually provided in your paperwork left in your stateroom; at the SX desk or perhaps at one of the Latitudes cocktail parties. You can purchase 1 for $250 getting $100 OBC back to use on the cruise you are now on. Also a better deal you can buy 2 for $500 getting $250 OBC 4 for $1000 getting $500 OBC. And as noted only 1 can be used per cabin per cruise - although sometimes 2 can be used with certain other seasonal promos. Suites and Havens maybe allowed 2 - check with NCL for details. Certificates can be used as a down payment or to place a hold on future cabin reservations - additional monies maybe required to complete the initial reservation. Certificates must be used WITHIN 4 years otherwise poof void money lost like a bad casino bet. The certificates maybe transferred bartered sold on ebay - best between Latitudes members. Get all the facts - talk with the NCL rep on board - a good deal if you like and have loyalty for NCL !
perditax Posted August 15, 2017 #9 Share Posted August 15, 2017 You can also buy (or sell) them on eBay, last I checked, but obviously not at the same rate as onboard.

Rare KeithJenner Posted August 15, 2017 #11 Share Posted August 15, 2017 Do you have ti use all the On board credit on that cruise or can you get it or any unused portion refunded at the end of the cruise? It gets used against the purchase. So, what is really happening is you get a £250 voucher for $150 or two vouchers for $250 They just advertise it as OBC, I assume to encourage people to spend it elsewhere onboard. So if you pay 500, you get 3 vouchers of 250 each, translating into a 33% discount, right? Do you have to use the free voucher of 250 onboard the current ship, or can you book 3 more cruises, using 1 voucher for each future cruise cabin? Also can 1 voucher be used per person or per cabin? Which other Cruise lines have similar offers? Thanks again

don't-use-real-name Posted August 15, 2017 #16 Share Posted August 15, 2017 Can the 250 voucher be used while booking through an online travel agent or is it only valid for direct booking on the Norwegian website? In booking thru your TA - the TA calls NCL - looking up your account and selecting one or more of the certificates for your cruise booking. At what price are they sold on eBay? Whatever is negotiable between the buyer and seller (probably something near 60-80% of face value).

Basically a net of $375 is being charged to your OBC. For 4, you pay a net of $500, for 2 the net is $250, for 1 you pay $250 with a refund of $100, a net of $150. You won't have any OBC left over for this transaction. They are used per cabin, not per person & are used as the deposit. With certain promos, you can use 2 per cabin. drsel Posted August 15, 2017 #22 Share Posted August 15, 2017 (edited) Nothing mentioned on ncl.com about being charged only $500 ($1000 debited to SeaPass, less $500 OBC) for 4 X 250 gift vouchers-- https://www.ncl.com/in/en/giftcard/faq Maybe its only the Future Cruise booking desk who can give you this offer while on the cruise (not purchaseable on ncl.com). It seems not many know about this offer & if other cruise lines also have something similar. drsel Posted August 15, 2017 #24 Share Posted August 15, 2017 Correct me if I am wrong, but-- In Celebrity, you have to choose a SPECIFIC future cruise at their HIGH RACK RATE, not the normally huge discounted rate offered by OTAs. You can switch to another Celebrity cruise, again at the high rack rate. So, its not worth it, cos you can never get the OTA discounted rate. For NCL, you can buy these certificates and you have 4 years to use them. You do not need to book your next cruise onboard. You can go home and find a cheap NCL cruise and use it for that at whatever rate you find and from whatever source (NCL or a TA or a website).
