NWACruiser Posted September 1, 2017 Author #102 Share Posted September 1, 2017 Then we headed back to the cabin to get ready for an adventurous and somewhat unforgettable evening on the ship! A glass of Merlot at dinner and another round of dancing with Agnes was the beginning of a wild night.
NWACruiser Posted September 1, 2017 Author #103 Share Posted September 1, 2017 We were going to the Studio VIP show after dinner. I needed to head to the cabin before the show, so the girls all headed to the Follies Theater. We had another visitor in the cabin!
NWACruiser Posted September 1, 2017 Author #104 Share Posted September 1, 2017 On the way down, I took a few photos along the way. Thing 1 and Thing 2 made an appearance.
NWACruiser Posted September 1, 2017 Author #105 Share Posted September 1, 2017 The girls were wondering what was taking me so long to get there. Well, I got into a line at the theater. They were stopping everyone, so I asked what was going on. They were looking for volunteers to be part of the show. I could not pass up the opportunity to make a fool of myself, so I volunteered to be in the show. The girls figured out why I was late as Jen interviewed me live in the theater. While interviewing me, Jen touched my shirt. She loved my soft shirt! She could not stop commenting on how soft it was. As a participant, we were moved up to prime locations on the floor so I could easily be located when it was my turn. Let the show begin.

NWACruiser Posted September 1, 2017 Author #108 Share Posted September 1, 2017 Unfortunately, I had to do “The Hustle.” I was never any good at disco dancing, and it showed. But, I had fun trying! I felt sorry for the dancer who was paired up with me. Disco King?

NWACruiser Posted September 1, 2017 Author #110 Share Posted September 1, 2017 YAMC? When the show was over, I ventured to the piano bar to see what was going on. DW went to the casino. We met up a bit later to see a comedy show. The comedian was OK, but not quite our type of humor. After the show was over, DW and I took the elevator back to deck 6 to head back to the cabin. It had been an adventurous day.
Mogo0124 Posted September 1, 2017 #111 Share Posted September 1, 2017 What date was your cruise? DS wants to do Alaska and we're thinking of doing one for his college graduation in 2019. We've always done Caribbean cruises as well. Is it worth the extra cost?

We've always done Caribbean cruises as well. Is it worth the extra cost? We were on the cruise July 11-18. It was worth the money, even though it was not cheap. NWACruiser Posted September 3, 2017 Author #115 Share Posted September 3, 2017 Ketchikan, Alaska Today was our last day to visit Alaska. It also is the shortest port day of the Alaskan ports. We did not have a lot planned, other than the Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show. It was a beautiful morning. We went to breakfast, and watched the Carnival Legend work its way into the port. The port was the most scenic of the three ports in Alaska. After the ship docked, the five of us gathered together to head into town. The Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show was a block from where we docked. We had some time to walk around the area before the show.
NWACruiser Posted September 3, 2017 Author #116 Share Posted September 3, 2017 The lumberjack show portrayed a competition between Dawson Creek Camp (CA), and Spruce Mill Camp (US). The camps were actual camps who would compete against each other. The area where you sit determined which team you cheered for. Today, we were honorary Canucks. OK, so the show was a little corny, with each lumberjack portraying some stereotypical person. The competition was certainly for real.
NWACruiser Posted September 3, 2017 Author #117 Share Posted September 3, 2017 Today’s competitors representing Dawson Creek were Ray Geist and Boone Sheer. Representing Spruce Mill were Will Randall and Logan Hawks. Macy Johnson was the emcee.

NWACruiser Posted September 3, 2017 Author #124 Share Posted September 3, 2017 Boone takes the worst fall from the log roll one can suffer. But he gets his revenge to win the competition.
