Another unlimited drinks question

If you have the unlimited drink package and are with another couple that does not have it, how do they handle it when the two couples, together, order a "round of drinks?" Will ours automatically be deducted or do we need to use are card separately? How would we pay for their drinks if we wish to do so?

When we do use our drink card does the bartender do some kind of "no charge" or is that done at the end of the cruise on our room bill?

You can not order drinks for others with the package unless you pay full price for them.. Others would be foolish to purchase a drink for you as you get yours at no additional charge with the package. The only exception is wine by the bottle. If you purchase at 40% off that bottle can be shared.

"Package must be purchased for full length of voyage, cannot be shared, is non-transferable, and is non-refundable within 3 days of sailing."

You order for yourself only. The AIBP is for the person that purchased it only. No sharing.

If you want to buy drinks for others then they would charge your cruise card in a separate transaction.

It's easiest for each person to hand the waiter their own card. Those with AIBP won't be charged, those without AIBP will. The waiter won't mind getting four cards. It's not like a land-based bar where it can make more work for the staff.

As others have said, you should decline if someone offers to buy your drink, as they are already paid for. We do use our AIBP at dinner to buy wine for the table. This way you can buy the other couple a nice glass of wine and get 40% off.

I often have a drink onboard with friends, some solos, some couples, etc. The waitstaff takes each person's or couple's drink order separately. Solos give him/her their card, couples either give one or two cards.

If you have the alcohol drink package and order a "round of drinks" for everyone, you'll be charged for everyone's drinks except yours. The package is only for the person who has bought it.

If two people have the all inclusive beverage package, then be sure to provide both cards to buy drinks. The other drinks you are buying will cost you. Be sure toe explain what you are doing. Otherwise you could be charged for 3 drinks when paying for another couple.
