Christopher is one of our favorite Vines staff. We have run into him on three ships just by chance. When did you last see him and on what ship?

It would have to have been on Star Princess. Mexican Rivera cruise - 2014.

Hands down best service, best individual, we have met while cruising was Ronnie a waiter on the Emerald in 2015. He was such a wonderful, fun, energetic guy, and just a joy to talk to and get to know. I kick myself for not getting some way to contact him. I filled out every comment card, survey and even spoke with the MD to try and share what a wonderful person he was (and of course an extra tip!). Funny thing was he wasn't even our MDR waiter, we had him for breakfast on the first day and from that point on made it a point to go to every service we could where he was working.

I truly hope he is doing well, nothing would make me happier then to see him again on board.

Wow, I had never thought to try and keep in touch with staff members. I figure a lot of them move around ships and that there is a lot of turnover, but perhaps not as much as I would think. We don't cruise all that much compared to a lot of folks on CC (well if you asked my wife, she would say we have cruised plenty frequently :*).

I am thinking it would just be difficult and grow into too large a list. Unlike Thrak, I do interact with FB, but the circle of friends is small and I don't spend much time posting stuff.

Alright, so to the topic at hand because reading Thrak's post and some others, has made me think back on our several cruises and when doing so, the ones that come to mind quickly are easily the special ones and memorable ones.

First though, if I exclude the CD's and MD's we have had repeats with, then I would say I have encountered two casino hosts twice each on cruises and we certainly remembered each other. One was a guy my friend spent time with in BJ lessons and then she got lucky and won the tournament (I coached her as well and then she out-played me ).

I believe I also encountered one of the Sanctuary stewards a second time, but not sure he remembered us.

And finally, The Special Ones I Would Like to Run Into Again (in no particular order other than #1):

#1

I am pretty sure this was the first cruise with our friends. It was the Ruby and I went down after boarding to meet with the great Generoso in order to make a dining change from AT to TD with our friends. He set us up at a table in AT, but it was our table at our time for the entire week (a.k.a. TD - this was before they had two early TD DR spaces I think). We had two young fellows who were FUN - and I mean it. They made every meal highly enjoyable and yet were pros all the time. We had a great time and I also recall a couple of special things I won't mention. No idea their names anymore, but I certainly put in recognition cards for them.

#2

I don't pretend to know him personally, but I have been on two cruises with the one and only, Generoso. Besides handling our table change on Ruby (I know it's routine), I also spoke with him on another ship (Emerald?) about special dining and he took care of that also. Had a couple of other conversations with him. I know we weren't to include MD's but this man is special and the MD manages a lot more than the MDR's of course.

(Actually, many of them are special and I have had postive encounters).

#3

We had a fantastic cabin steward on CB I think it was a long time back. She was very professional, but you could get her to crack a smile. No, she was great. Well, I cannot say we have had a bad cabin steward, but I just recall thinking she was a step above.

#4

Another waitress - on Emerald at the time - was a real pro (from eastern Europe as I recall). She was very nice and handled everything like a pro. We chatted some when she had time and her BF also worked for Princess and was a HW on another ship. AHA, I said to myself - no wonder she is so good as she must get tips/coaching from the BF. She is one I would like to have followed to know if she got promoted (we have not had a female HW as yet, but surely some must be on the ships). When will we see the first female MD? I would watch and see her direct/correct an assistant. She didn't miss a thing.

Poop. Guess I blew it then, eh? Live and learn. Hopefully, someday we will meet up again and I can get the info on these folks.

If you don't 'do' facebook, ask for an email address. I normally prefer email. Easier and much more personal, not to mention private. On FB, depending on your settings, everyone can see what you write.

I've become friendly with many crew members over the years. A head waiter, a few members of the CD staff, a music director on the CB, 2 of the entertainers (piano men), to name a few. We are all still in contact, although none of us have sailed together more than once.

If you should happen to know his last name or have any info on how to find where he is I'd appreciate it.

Martin Ford, PSD Many years ago, when we were on out 2nd or 3rd princess cruise,

Martin came up and chatted with us at a cocktail party. He treated us as if we were

the most traveled passengers on the ship. We see him every couple of years.

Peter Hollison, PSD -- only knew him casually. We hadn't seen him in 2 or 3 years,

and there was a PSD group meeting on Royal. He says to Mrs Pablo ... are you still

work at <company name>? It was amazing that he could remember something like that

after seeing tens of thousands of people in the interim. Just amazing.

Rui Santos, Waiter, Portugal ... now retired. Excellent waiter, always had a suggestion

for an enhancement. Order cerial for breakfast ... could he slice a bananna with that for you?

Oxana, waitress ukraine, now retired.

Oxana is the sweetest girl ever. The second time (cruise) that we saw her, she was

so excited that she had gotten married while she was at home. She ran down to her

cabin to bring back a picture of her husband. (who also worked on princess)

It was a little sad at that time, as the company would not keep couples together on

the same ship. This has improved over the past 5 years.

Francisco -- head waiter, Italy and now Dominican Republic.

Just a great guy. Has done many things for us, and we have done a few for him, as well.

<dont want to cause any problems> -- head waiter, Romania.

Of all the people I know on Princess, he is like a personal friend.

I can email him before a cruise, and he makes sure dining is all set for us when

we board. We see him about once a year or so.

Two waitresses who are very good friends, and would kill me if I mentioned their names.

I can hear them saying: "Why you talk about me?"

I chat with them all the time, and are always honest with me, and give me the

crew perspective. I admire their honesty.

Darko -- waiter from Macedonia. Fantastic waiter. The last time I saw him, he was

acting head waiter. Very well deserved. Some other posters here like him, as well.

Sindy, captains circle hostess from Belgium, now retired. A year ago, we were on a cruise that

stopped in Antigua. We went to a nearby hotel that had a pool. Sindy was there

with her husband. All of us thousands of miles from home, and we just happen to

run into each other. Really a small world.

Commodore Romano -- gave us a private bridge tour when we were on board for

lunch on a turn around day. Always very, very friendly. I mention to him the town

live in, and he says he has a very good friend from his home town who as a resturant

there. Now, we go to the resturant weekly. I will be sad when he ages out, and has

to retire.

Mike Moulon retired Captain/Comodore. He was the most interesting captain ever.

Very clever. Even after he retired, he came back for a few cruises as a lecturer.

Barty Barrington Brown .. piano entertainer. I think he works mostly on Cunard, now.

He is always involved in some charity. We met him many, may years ago on the

old crown princess., and see him from time to time.

For 20+ years on princes, his shows are always packed with passengers.

A lot more, but it seems like this has gotten long enough.

Last name Ocampo. He game me the last name with no problem. No idea where he is now.

Thanks. Wow. Tried to Google him. About a bazillion folks with that name! I didn't find any associated with Princess though. Ah, well. Perhaps I will run into him again someday. Maybe even on our next cruise. One never can tell.

I don't have a FB account. I don't have any desire for "friends" I've never met or, for that matter, to have anything to do with FB. (Crabby old ex IT person. CC is as close to social media as I get.)

I do appreciate the info though. I'll ask my wife if she can locate him as she has an account. Many thanks. :D

Someday we'd love to meet up with these two folks again. Both made our cruise (different cruises) exceptional. Needless to say we turned in the "made a difference" cards and also mentioned them by (first) name on the post cruise survey. Additionally I sent separate email to Princess with the cruise info and their names to let the powers that be know that these individuals went out of their way to insure we had a fantastic cruise. Just would love to meet up with them again someday.

We also had a member of the CD staff on one cruise who was really fun. I believe his name was Mark but, again, no last name. I also gave him extra credit with Princess as I believe that sort of feedback can be valuable for the staff. This guy was crazy and really fun and funny. Very... flamboyant. :D He seemed to really love his job and was fantastic at it. We had some great interactions.

Could it have been Matt34? Have been lucky enough to do 3 with him and find him so entertaining, clever, sweet, and funny! Would love to cruise with him again.
