Hi all....We have an 8PM flight the day our ship comes back into port. Looking for a hotel that will give an early check in. The last couple of times we did this, the hotel didn't let us check into the room until 3PM.

Any suggestions where you had luck checking in upon arrival?

In may we got a day use room in Ft Lauderdale. We cruised out of Miami. We had a late afternoon flight so we rented a room for the day. We took Uber from the POM and got there around 10a, checked right in. We could nap, use the pool, eat at the restaurant. They even had a shuttle to the airport. Glad we did the day room since our flight got pushed back several hours.

Which airport is your flight from?

Do you mind sharing which hotel this was with? We have the exact situation for our 12/9 cruise on the Escape. Flying out of FLL on a flight that doesn't leave until after 7PM, we do not want to rent a vehicle, so having a room that we could check into early would be ideal.

The problem with an early check in is that the hotel has to have the room available. Unless you book for two nights, there is no promise that the room will be available prior to regular check in time.

Look for day room hotels.

We are in the same situation after our Escape cruise in October. We used dayuse.com and booked a day room at Royal Beach Palace in FL. Has pool and restaurant and room is booked from 9am to 4pm. for $69. Nothing fancy, just a 2star motel not too far from the beach. Convenient and inexpensive for the day.

Hope you find what you are looking for. Enjoy your cruise.

Another option if you are energetic, is to rent a car for the day. We picked up our car, threw the luggage in the trunk and did a little sightseeing and mall visiting. Then we had a nice dinner and dropped the car off a couple of hours before our flight.

Call hotel you prefer. Ask for a "day room rate". This is a room available from morning to afternoon. It's typically half the nightly rate and can only be booked straight with hotel. This is something I used to use as a private jet charter pilot when our crew would sleep and be on rest during the day in between night flights. Each hotel is different and sets a different policy so call around to a few.
