AJCOLE Posted September 18, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2017 I was wondering if the route to the cruise port will be shut down or affected in any way with the marathon being the same day? We will be driving in from the north Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare shof515 Posted September 18, 2017 #2 Share Posted September 18, 2017 there will be no problems. i am on the same sailing as you. you will be fine. If you are coming from the north, it might best to take the Heny Hudson Pkwy down to the terminal to avoid most of all of the traffic in the city. Rare Peachypooh Posted September 18, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 18, 2017 I am not sure about marathon day but when we cruised on the Gem both embarkation and when we disembarked there were streets closed off for a parade and also pedestrian bicycle access. The cabbies all knew about it and how to drive around it. Since you are driving yourself a good iphone app or even mapquest will show you the best route. skeeter195 Posted September 18, 2017 #4 Share Posted September 18, 2017 We were on cruises both leaving and coming home(2 seperate years) when the marathon was going on. We also come from the north. We always take the GWB then straight down the west side highway and have never had any traffic issues.
mjkacmom Posted September 18, 2017 #5 Share Posted September 18, 2017 We've cruised this week several times (NJ students off from school most of the week, so expect a lot of them), and taken both the ,in London tunnel and GWB, and didn't hit any marathon traffic.
