ChiefMike Posted October 16, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 16, 2017 ATLANTIC CITY — The U.S. Coast Guard airlifted Sunday an ill passenger off a cruise ship about 13 miles away from Atlantic City. At about 7 p.m., crew from the cruise ship Norwegian Breakaway contacted watchstanders at the Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay about an ill passenger who needed medical care, officials said in a statement. rescue crew launched a helicopter from Air Station Atlantic City, hoisted the woman aboard and took her to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, officials said. “Rescue cases like these are a great example of how the Coast Guard’s training in all weather conditions, both day and night help us get those who need urgent medical care to the help they need,” said Lt. J.G. Victoria Ferraro. The woman’s identity and condition were not released. I’m on the Breakaway this week and last night there was a helicopter medivac for an ill passenger. njhorseman Posted October 16, 2017 #5 Share Posted October 16, 2017 I wonder what the passenger has to pay to the Coast Guard etc for the medivac Not a cent. It's part of the Coast Guard's job and funded by US taxpayer dollars.

luvtheships Posted October 17, 2017 #11 Share Posted October 17, 2017 I hope she is ok and that it wasn't anything serious. I'm sure it was serious or they wouldn't have to evac the pax. By its very nature an evac is serious. They aren't sending the coast guard out to get you just as a training maneuver If the pax had expired there is no reason for evac as all ships have coffins and morgue Sent from my iPhone using Forums
