Sailaway25 Posted November 17, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 17, 2017 having always booked our excursions prior to sailing, I am thinking about leaving it till we are onboard as we have a lot of obc. So with that in mind have most people found that they are able to go on the outings that they want, and are they much more expensive then pre cruise?? Only looking at booking excersions for Tenerife and Lanzarote on the Christmas cruise on Q.V.
Lanky Lad Posted November 17, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 17, 2017 Unless you are doing a special trip with very limited spaces, you should be ok. I have not found the prices to be much higher on board and often they are the same.
Sailaway25 Posted November 17, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted November 17, 2017 No we’re not doing anything special, so I think I may just book once on board... thanks lanky lad
Underwatr Posted November 18, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 18, 2017 In my experience they might be about 10% more expensive to book after boarding. I suppose you could game the system somewhat, by booking any that you don't want to miss now, and then about a week before embarkation cancel the ones that don't show "limited availability" and rebook after boarding to burn up some OBC. Or like me you may think that's a little too much work...
Ray66 Posted November 18, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 18, 2017 I just came back from a Canaries cruise on the QE last week. We booked two excursions beforehand and one excursion onboard to use up OBC. The price increases were generally $3 to $5. e.g. Heart of La Palma from $59 to $62 and Leisurely La Palma from $58 to $63.
