Sand and Seas Posted March 17, 2018 #26 Share Posted March 17, 2018 We just booked two nights and we did get Aloft for $87 per night! Such a great deal, but we wouldn't have had the courage to book an unknown hotel in a new area without your helpful posts. Now we can sit back and wait for airfare deals and make some plans. Thanks! Now we can sit back and wait for airfare deals and make some plans. Thanks! That's terrific! I'm excited for you. If you take the Silver Line from the Airport, get off at the first World Trade Center stop on the street level. Just inside the station doors take the elevator to the top level. Walk towards the Westin Hotel on Summer St. Make a left and go one block to Ave D and make a right to go down to Aloft, which is essentially behind the Westin. If you don't want to walk, go a half block down to the traffic light in the same direction as the bus and cross to the Seaport Hotel, which has a cab stand. Please feel free to post back with other questions. I'm so glad you're not staying in Dorcester.
Sand and Seas Posted March 23, 2018 #28 Share Posted March 23, 2018 After studying maps of the area, just wondering if it's possible to walk from the Aloft Hotel to the Black Falcon pier with our rolling luggage. It doesn't look very far, but not sure about the terrain or traffic on the cross streets. (In New Orleans we always walk over to the port from our hotel as it's just a few blocks. It's nice to avoid the long line of drop off cars/taxis/buses.)

There are good sidewalks and good crossings with traffic lights plus little pedestrian traffic. The area is basically flat. However, Black Falcon Avenue in front of the cruise terminal can be a little chaotic. I don't see any problem walking with your luggage if the weather is good. Rare Keith1010 Posted March 23, 2018 #30 Share Posted March 23, 2018 I agree. If the weather is nice you could walk it. Keith
Sand and Seas Posted March 23, 2018 #31 Share Posted March 23, 2018 Thanks Carol and Keith! We will definitely keep an eye on the weather and check this out. If it's a nice day in late August, walking might be more pleasant than joining the traffic drop off line. We are so excited for our first visit to Boston. So many things we want to see and do. Can't believe it's taken us this long to book a cruise from there. (We really dislike flying into and cruising from NY so usually end up in Miami or New Orleans.) And thanks again to Carol for helping us find that deal to make it a two night pre-cruise:cool:
