TinkBellaMom Posted November 25, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 25, 2017 When in Venice a few years ago, I was disappointed at not being allowed to take pictures in St. Marks. I bought postcards instead. Now we are planning a trip to Florence and Rome and I am wondering are pics forbidden in the Vatican for example, how about Uffizi and the Museums in Florence? euro cruiser Posted November 26, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 26, 2017 You can take pictures in St. Peter's basilica and in the Vatican museums, but no flash is allowed. The only exception is the Sistine Chapel, no photos of any kind are allowed there: http://www.museivaticani.va/content/museivaticani/en/visita-i-musei/consigli-utili.html
Rare mskaufman Posted November 26, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 26, 2017 Make sure you have plenty of room on your camera memory card. My camera did not stop going.
Rare Keith1010 Posted November 26, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 26, 2017 Yes as mentioned you can take photos inside just no flash. Good point about the memory card and always have extra ones just in case something goes wrong with the existing card. Keith
euro cruiser Posted November 26, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 26, 2017 Similar rules about photography at the Uffizi (and, by extension, all state owned museums in Florence), personal photography is allowed but no flash, no selfie sticks, no tripods: https://www.uffizi.it/en/pages/rules-to-visit-the-uffizi-galleries
