Photo package question

On our last cruise we purchased the all prints photo package for our family - it was inclusive of all four of us in one room. I purchased on the cruisephotos.com site which now says RCI and Celebrity packages must now be purchased from the cruise planner. When doing so - it appears that I have to purchase for both people in the room. Can anyone explain if the photographers swipe the room card before taking photos? How would it work with the family photos? We sometimes just want a pic of my husband and I or of just the two girls? Does it make sense that I would have to purchase for both in the room? Seems like a lot!

We really enjoyed the dozens of photos on our last cruise and also loved the experience of having some unique ones taken.
