aprilsp88 Posted November 29, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 29, 2017 Hi, Just wonder how can I get vaccination requirement for Vietnam and Thailand? I suppose CDC should be the official info? If it says recommend, does it mean not required? I remember for Amazon cruise, yellow fever is required. But today when I check the CDC website, it also says recommended. Thanks, April
easyboy Posted November 29, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 29, 2017 Will also be on those ports in Jan. On Cruise Personalizer, there is no mention of required vaccinations under "Important Notices" that may be necessary for boarding. I guess it will be a personal decision based on consultation with respective physician.
Rare Keith1010 Posted November 29, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 29, 2017 Nothing is required. Have sailed these places many times. Good to consult with your physician or a travel physician about recommended vaccines and part of that should be based on the types of itineraries you have planned. TenorSongster Posted November 29, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 29, 2017 Just spent a week in Vietnam by land in September, needed visa but no vaccination required then. Check with tour doctor whether if they advise and always check with CDC and US State Department. Rare Keith1010 Posted November 29, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 29, 2017 I wanted to add that when we travel we utilize a medical firm specializing in travel called Passport Health. They have locations in many locations around the USA so I thought I would provide you with the link for them. https://www.passporthealthusa.com Keith
scouse mouse Posted November 29, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 29, 2017 I wouldn’t go to either of those countries without diphtheria, tetanus, polio, typhoid and hep A. That’s just my opinion though.
riffatsea Posted November 29, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 29, 2017 Most American(USA ) adults have already been vaccinated against polio diptheria and tetanus. I agree that although there is no requirement for specific vaccinations , getting one for Hep A( you need 2 shots 6months apart) is a good idea. LeeW Posted December 1, 2017 #9 Share Posted December 1, 2017 By the way, Hep A (food-born pathogen) vaccination can be hard to come by. In our area doctors, groceries, Walmart and local health department don't have the vaccine. And if they have it can cost over $100 for each shot, not covered by many insurance policies (or Medicare; not REQUIRED, just recommended for travel). Costco did have it for $65. First shot was from doctor and it was a pain finding a place to get the second one.
