Boarding Harmony of the seas

Can I get some clarification on WOW band vs. Seapass cards please? I know the bands can be used to open your stateroom door and for purchases on the ship whether it be merchandise or drinks. If you are being served a drink (in the theater, around the pool, etc.), do you need to remove the WOW band or do the servers have scanners with them? I also know that you need your seapass card to get on and off the ship even if you have a band. On previous cruises, people in my group got their cards punched and wore them on a lanyard, but I have read on here that is not possibly on Harmony because of a chip in the card. Does anyone know if hole punches are still available for Harmony cards?

I don't know how often it happens, but I have read about people needing to remove the WOW band to get a drink. With regard to punching a hole in the SeaPass card, supposedly there is a way to do it if you get the right person at Guest Services. Another option is to get a lanyard with a clear plastic card holder.

I would recommend getting to the pier around 10AM. We did and there was hardly anyone there. Walked right in, right up to the counter and right onto the ship. Easiest boarding, ever. Not a single person in front of us at any point. By the time we were done checking in, we could literally walk right onto the ship. I want to say we were on around 10:30 or so and having drinks already.

Park Cafe is also a great spot for embarkation day. Not too busy at all and good food.

You just have your set sail pass printed when you check in online. You can use this to buy drinks and what not before cabins open up. Once cabins open up, just head to your cabin and your cards will be on the door.

Very simple, very fast. I personally skipped the wow bands. I don't "get it." I saw so many having to take off their bands and hand to the bartenders and what not. Easier to just carry my card in my pocket.
