How strict is Galveston when it comes to carrying on water and/or soda?

It's been no problem for us, and others have recently reported carrying on soda in bottles.

I bring 2 cases of water and 2 12 packs of soda and have never been given a thought. I've been thru this port 5 times. I don't want to get flamed but in the younger days we brought on cases of beer in our carry on luggage and the scanners laughed every time. They didn't work for Royal and were just looking weapons / drugs etc.., real contraband.

Just came back from Liberty out of Galveston two weeks ago and I saw at least 2 people walk on with a pack of water.

I’ve seen guest put luggage tags on their cases of water.

I've seen that at Galveston too, but that won't work at Port Canaveral. Porters won't take it.

We have had no problems bringing water and cokes on board in Galveston.
