Members Rare Cruise Critic Chris Posted December 18, 2017 Members #1 Share Posted December 18, 2017 Hi everyone - I'm on the Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas sailing that made the inaugural "mainstream" cruise call into St. Maarten yesterday. Here's my story from the port.

Granny&Pap Posted December 23, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 23, 2017 Thanks for the update Chris. Our favorite jeweler on Front Street, SHOPPERS HAVEN, has been in touch and they are 'on the road to recovery'. Hopefully be able to see friends there on the 'friendly island of St. Maarten'. do_not_spindle Posted December 29, 2017 #6 Share Posted December 29, 2017 Thanks for posting. We were on the same cruise, sorry we missed you! (If you went to Centrum evenings when Celebration band was playing, we were one of the dancing couples you saw. Not the ones in matching outfits!) Too bad the rain put a damper on the day, but we are very glad we ventured out. While many shops were closed in Phillipsburg, we were pleased at the number open, and had a nice lunch at one of the beachfront restaurants. I was impressed seeing several eateries that were using pop-up tents and grills to get back into operation. I saw a quad-drone flying around Great Bay Beach, so there may be some video from the day out there.
