dis2cruise Posted January 12, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2018 If husband wears a long sleeve dress shirt with dress pants and tie is this ok or does he need a suit or sports jacket too When dining?
thon Posted January 12, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2018 No matter what cabin class or what dining venue men NEVER need to wear ties, jackets or suits. Celebrity’s dress code changed a few years ago and while some still prefer to get more dressier, most don’t.
Gonzo70 Posted January 12, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2018 Thon is correct; even on chic nights (these replaced formal nights) the dress code not only does not require a jacket/suit/tux - a tie or even long sleeves is not required (though long pants is required). On my most recent cruises there has been a mix of people dressing up as well as plenty of people opting for more casual attire - neither group sticks out. dkjretired Posted January 12, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 12, 2018 Also, the written dress code does not apply in Blu only the Main Dining Room.
Rare keesar Posted January 12, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 12, 2018 People do get more dressed up on the "formal" nights. Men will often wear a shirt and jacket. On other nights, a collared shirt will do just fine. You will see quite a spectrum of clothing choices on board. Everything from tuxedos to short sleeved shirts. gek Posted January 13, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 13, 2018 Officially, Blu is smart casual every night. Short sleeves and tidy jeans/chinos are sufficient. In practice I find people in Blu dress less casually than those in the MDR except on chic nights when Blu is a mixed bag, from tuxedoes to polo shirt.
