HappyRev Posted January 27, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2018 We just booked a cruise on Carnival Pride and our itinerary says that on the last day Pride docks in Baltimore at 10 am. For anyone who sailed on a Pride recently, is this correct? My confusion stems from the experience. On previous cruises we took, we usually are docked by 6 am and off the ship by 8 am. Thanx in advance.
VaTech8912 Posted January 27, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 27, 2018 Yes, that is correct and normal. Also, note that you will not be able to board on embarkation day until noonish (earliest) which is different than other ports. It is nice however on debarkation day to wake up and have a relaxing breakfast before getting off at the crack of dawn. Enjoy your trip.
sandy toes Posted January 27, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2018 That late return time is one of my favorites about sailing on the Pride. I do NOT like waking at the break of dawn and rushing around on my last day on ship. I really enjoy, waking , having a relaxing breakfast before having to exit the ship. Make sure yiou plan you flights out of BWI accordingly. My first cruise on the Pride I met a couple that had a 0930 flight home. The people in guest services were very nice, worked with them while at sea and helped them get another flight sometime later in the afternoon. StolidCruiser Posted January 27, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 27, 2018 This is somewhat unique for the Pride out of Baltimore when you compare it with other home port times. Good to know and discuss so those unfamliar learn about the “oddball”. 😀
Rare mskaufman Posted January 28, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 28, 2018 On Dec 30 we did not dock until almost 11:30.

Oshawapilot Posted January 28, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 28, 2018 Can't say I'm overly excited about the late return as we have a 10 hour drive home after disembarkation, but we will opt for self-carry and try to expedite as much as possible. What time are the stateroom attendants looking to get in and start turning over staterooms, and what is the latest time to still catch breakfast? Although I'm an early riser and will almost certainly be up to enjoy our last few miles up the Chesapeake (as well as watching the docking), the rest of my family are more apt to sleep in and wake up just in time to grab some breakfast and then disembark the second the gangways are open. yort44 Posted February 19, 2018 #10 Share Posted February 19, 2018 10am is scheduled unless there are high winds, then the ship must travel slower and you'll arrive late. The latest I've seen is about 2pm, but that was during 30MPH winds. Just something to keep in mind. Also--if you arrive early and the ship is late, you'll not be allowed to park as they'll need to clear the returning cruise first. I'd suggest you keep an eye out to make sure it's running on time if you're driving to the pier. Was on the 12/24 cruise and arrived at 12:45pm (had a 2pm board time) and was parked and on the ship by 1:20pm. You won't find an easier pier to park and board! Unfortunately caught norovirus on the 12/24 cruise, so we're doing what any real cruiser would do. We're going back on the 4/1 cruise to get this right! :)
