cb at sea Posted January 28, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 28, 2018 Not sure what you're looking for. If you've never been to the Bahamas...it's worth a gander. Coco Cay is the private island that RCI leases for a beautiful beach day, courtesy of the ship!
Rolady68 Posted January 28, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted January 28, 2018 Any good spots to visit in either Island I know the one is a private island so that won't matter but as far as Nassau is there any good hot spots that we could recommend to our friends Sent from my SM-T377V using Forums mobile app

grapau27 Posted January 28, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 28, 2018 Cococay was nice with a small selection of shops and lots of beach to lie on. Lunchtime barbeque cooked by RC crew was nice. Nassau had a large market at the quayside and a selection of shops and bars nearby plus Atlantis resort is nearby. We had a ride around town on a horse drawn carriage. Pellaz Posted January 28, 2018 #8 Share Posted January 28, 2018 The Private Island what are some of the activities that are available? It's been seven years since I've been to CocoCay, but if your friends enjoy snorkeling, it was a great place for that. If they do, I'd suggest that they watch the orientation by the snorkel shack; they should tell you the best places to go...which are out from the "main" beach and over to the right by the floating rafts; there was also a lifeguard stationed there. I saw HUNDREDS of fish.
kccrzr Posted January 28, 2018 #9 Share Posted January 28, 2018 We were just on the Enchantment over MLK weekend and had a great time. We rented a beach bungalow on CoCo Cay. We were on the second tender (after crew members) and ti leave the bungalow area. I’m including a few pictures of our day. kccrzr Posted January 29, 2018 #10 Share Posted January 29, 2018 We have been to Nassau 6 times and have found something different to do each time - all were enjoyable. John Watling’s Distillery offers a short tour and a great bar area with good rum drinks. You can purchase Watling’s rum (offered only in the Bahamas). The grounds are beautiful too with a setting high on a hill looking down towards the ocean. You can sit inside at the bar or outside on the patio to enjoy your drinks. Goldie’s at the Fish Fry for conch fritters, fish sandwiches and local beer: British Colonial Hilton, which is just a few blocks from port and offers day passes covering use of the pool and beach, and including a credit for food/drink: Atlantis Resort, in the background, with a huge aqua park and many pools: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Iowa_Vike Posted January 29, 2018 #11 Share Posted January 29, 2018 Bahamian Kitchen for great local food. Conch fritters are good but I also recommend the crack conch. Awesome! Chase them down with a local beer, Kalik or Sands. Or 1 or each like I did. http://bahamiancookin.com/ Junkanoo Beach is a little walk from the pier that a lot of other cruisers go to. Nice beach to spend the day in Nassua. Swing into the Straw Market on your way back to the ship.just to say you were there. Lots of stuff to see.
