Rare georgiacat Posted February 4, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2018 I am considering a Mediterranean cruise for 2019, looking at Princess and Carnival, maybe others. Does Princess offer educational lectures on the med. ports? I don't think Carnival would. I looked at the Mediterranean board, but it is divided by ports. CruiserBruce Posted February 4, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 4, 2018 Med cruises are very port intensive, not many sea days. Not much time for educational presentations.
Rare georgiacat Posted February 4, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted February 4, 2018 Alaska was fairly port intensive also, but they had talks about the next ports on ship. We enjoyed them.
AF-1 Posted February 4, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 4, 2018 I have done several Med cruises on Royal Caribbean and Norwegian. They always had a port talk in theater day prior to arrival. They spoke about the port you were going to and mostly what excursions were being offered. Nothing like having the naturalist onboard for Alaskan cruises
Rare Keith1010 Posted February 4, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 4, 2018 CruiserBruce is correct. Other then a port talk because they are port intensive there is very little enrichment since most of your time is in port. Keith
CruiserBruce Posted February 4, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 4, 2018 Alaska was fairly port intensive also, but they had talks about the next ports on ship. We enjoyed them. Alaska in a standard 7 day cruise you have typically have 2 sea days, and the attractions are not 8 hour tours, usually. In a 7 day Med cruise, you might have one sea day, and many excursions are full day events.
