I'm thinking of taking The Sun flying from DFW. Do I fly into Port Canaveral or Orlando?

The Sun is a ship, you can't fly it.

 

Okay, bad jokes aside, the majority of people fly in to Orlando and shuttle to Port Canaveral. There is lots of shuttle/transportation info over on the Florida Departures Forum. Hotel info also, if you need rooms.

Port Canaveral does not have a commercial airport. Most people fly into Orlando, but Melbourne and Daytona Beach are both options as well.

Yep, depending on your airline, sometimes Daytona can be cheaper than Orlando and a bit less crowded to maneuver as well.

Just in case....

There are actually two airports for Orlando -Orlando International (MCO) and Sanford ( SFB). Sanford is about 60 miles from the port and MCO is about 40 miles and is a much bigger, busier airport.

Flew into Sanford once also...considerably cheaper than Orlando or Daytona and it was a snap getting in and out of the airport.

Sanford airport is a GREAT option if its available to you. I live right in between Sanford and Orlando and whenever we can we choose Sanford. Its a small airport..tiny really which makes it SO nice.

In addition to the airports already mentioned, there is another full service airport that is very close to Port Canaveral... that's MLB in Melbourne FL. Actually its official name is Orlando Melbourne International, my experience has been there are a better selection of flights and usually cheaper at Orlando's MCO.

SFB isn't going to work but I'll go try MLB. Thanks for the suggestions.
