Last minute cheap Carnival Cruise? Is there such a thing?

I am interested in hearing other people stories on this. I don't think they drop the advertised price significantly last minute for unused cabins due to people using price protection to match it. I would guess they give special deals to TA or maybe send out last minute offers to specific people but I am unsure.

Good afternoon,

Just got off the Sunshine Friday and ready to go back. I was wondering if there were any other places to look for “cheaper” last minute cruisers over the Pack N Go deals. Anything else:)

I was able to get a 4 night on the Paradise for less than $366 each including gratuity and port fees. We booked a week ahead of the sail date. They picked the cabin though.
I was just looking at a 10 day from NY that goes to St Thomas ,Martinique, St Lucia and St Kitts on Norwegian for $686 PP on that ticker site. 83% off regular rates

I still kick myself 3 years ago before the Freedom moved to Galveston from Port Everglades there was a pack and go rate for an 8 nighter and I believe the port stops were San Juan, St. Thomas, HMC and Grand Turk. It had recently went through drydock as well.

$240 PP (late October). It was posted as a Pack & Go in early September that year.

We were uncertain because of some "lay off" potential at my wife's job (which ended up happening) but it would of been the perfect "fk them" cruise.

Since then, we don't see those type of crazy deals anymore but you can find some decent ones. Helps living in South FL.

If you play in the casino, you may get incredible bounce back offers. DH and I sailed on the Paradise 2 weeks ago and we are sailing on her again this Thursday for $50 per person, plus $100 onboard credit! Couldn't pass it up. We had a free cruise on the Paradise last Nov. as a bounce back offer. Can't tell you how much you need to spend or how many points you need to accrue in order to receive these offers.

I just compared the cruise I just bought from Carnival to that place. Carnival was 50% cheaper, and gave me a OBC. That was my only experience, and YMMV.

If you have sailed Carnival before, I would sign in and check your offers too. Sometimes they have 3-4 different ones available. A few days ago, I got a 7-night, southern carribean Carninval Fascination cruise for $410 each (taxes and fees), with a $25 each OBC. They had two "last-minute" offers available for a cruise at the end of April, and one was significantly better.

If they have rooms still available, they want them gone. I don't think you have to go far though.

I wish that when folks tell what a great price they snagged they would mention what kind of cabin they got. That makes a huge difference in how great of a deal it is.

For example- on a cruise we've booked posted prices are:

Inside = $519

OV = $549

Balcony= $854

Suite = $1,046

Somebody just giving an amount doesn't help much in determining what's a good deal on what sort of cabin. We only want a balcony so we need some explanation :D

I just got a 7 day out of San Juan on the Fascination with a Porthole cabin on April 8 for $314 per person Canadian (or about $250 USD) taxes and fees included. It was on for about 20 minutes one day early last week on the www.redtag.ca site here in Canada, then it was gone.

Well done in snagging that one !!!! :D:D

Now I’m jealous! I’m on that sailing and I’ve got an OV for $409pp plus taxes and port fees.

I've been trying to keep an eye out for some last minute deals for the Pride out of Baltimore but they never seem to come up. I guess it has to do with so little competition.

I think you're exactly right. The Pride almost never goes on sale; and they've modified the sailing schedule enough to reduce the undesirable cruises - eg, sailing out of B'More in February and freezing for the first two days.

I think they realize that that as you're not paying airfare (assuming you live within driving or AMTRAK distance - it's a $15 cab ride from B'More Penn Station) they can build that into the cruise price.

It isn't to bad of a drive for use to Baltimore but I have been watching the March 11th sailing for a last minute deal on an interior but price keeps going up. There seems to be several cabins still available though so we shall see.

Me too....a question: we are in the casino almost every night. Granted, we are no where near "high rollers" but we do spend some $ there. But we use DH's S&S card.If I am looking for a "casino offer" should I use his VIPF# instead of mine?

I check all of our VIFP numbers when comparing pricing. It seems they all have different offers at different times.
