Passport turn around time

Because people are always wondering...

Friend who is cruising with us received passport today, 16 days after application. This is a first time passport, not a renewal. She used standard processing, not expedited. Web site says 6-8 weeks, they told her "about 4 weeks" when she applied.

I'm at 9 days waiting for my renewal.

Took mine 2 weeks to get back to me, mine was a renewal.

It took ten days for my renewal. The original arrived two days later. Great time of the year to do it. Also in July and August.

Start to finish mine was 2 weeks 2 days, standard renewal

I got mine back in 2 weeks it was just a renewal.

My daughter paid to have her first time passport expedited. It arrived in approximately two weeks.

wow, I just renewed mine a few months ago and it took almost 6 weeks. Perhaps it depends what part of the country you are in and the processing center.

Does anyone recall how close to the expiration date the passport must be, before Princess won't accept it?

 

I seem to recall a 6 month timeframe prior to the cruise.

My daughter applied for her first passport on Jan 4 and it arrived on the 25th. Pretty quick!

It depends which countries you are visiting. They all have different rules. For many countries, it is 6 months.

You must have at least 6 months from your disembarkation date as per Princess. I had just under 5 months and had to renew after our last cruise because I didn't have a whole 6 months left on it for our next cruise,April. My wife has to renew hers after our next cruise(April) she lucked out and had 6 months 2 days. Hope that helps or just look it up on Princess's website.
