famof4togo Posted February 15, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2018 We are traveling in a large group and I did not book the rooms...however our rooms books are located in the front of the ship and across from the elevators.... I have only ever previously sailed in a mid ship room...being located towards the front of the ship...do you feel more movement? Is there a more likely chance of seasickness? As for the elevators...for those of you who have had a room across from the elevators before..was their significantly extra noise? Did the extra foot traffic bother you? Or was it no big deal? THANKS in advance...
RHilla619 Posted February 15, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2018 The more forward you are (or aft you are) the more likely you are to feel motion. Best place for minimal motion would be mid-ship low deck. As far as the elevators go, there's two sides to it. Yeah there will be more foot traffic, and potentially a little noisy. But also easier for you to get to your room.
riffatsea Posted February 16, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2018 We often book midship cabins near elevators, We have never been bothered by noise, Your elevators should have less use so even less noise,
coevan Posted February 16, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2018 We always love our Spa cabins, forward and deck 11 or 12.
lcpagejr Posted February 16, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 16, 2018 You didn't mention which deck your cabins are on....If your cabins are in front and higher up you will feel more motion then if you have a lower deck front cabin.
RWolver672 Posted February 16, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 16, 2018 We always choose our cabins right by the elevators. (Makes it easier to find our cabins.) You don't hear any noise because the backs of the elevators face the passageways. The elevators are basically in a room by themselves and that's where the people wait for them. As far as people walking down the passageway to get to them, there isn't any more noise than people just walking by any cabin.
Sam_Eagle Posted February 16, 2018 #7 Share Posted February 16, 2018 I've stayed in a cabin all the way forward on deck 2, and I only felt slight motion once, when it was very rough out. My wife, who is very prone to motion sickness, was never bothered it either. Sent from my SM-G950U using Forums mobile app
Jenn1974 Posted February 16, 2018 #8 Share Posted February 16, 2018 I am a light sleeper and I hated being close to the elevators.
nutterbutter818 Posted February 16, 2018 #9 Share Posted February 16, 2018 Movement will be more noticeable but scopolamine patches work very well, even in cabins on the ends. I put one on that morning (sometimes the night before) to make sure the drug is in my system by the time I board.
mrpayroll Posted February 16, 2018 #10 Share Posted February 16, 2018 It's not the elevators that are the problem, it is the people who talk loud getting off the elevators at night.
