LSWRArt Posted February 25, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2018 We are going from Vancouver to Alaska on Golden Princess. I guess it might be a bit chilly to spend much time outside, so where are the best places to see the magnificent scenery en-route? Thanks, Art
fishywood Posted February 25, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 25, 2018 On Golden there is a two level indoor pool area. And Skywalker's nightclub protruding from the top read of the ship. Plenty of windows at both locations. Or you can be a table hog in the buffet and stake out a window table that would otherwise rightfully belong to those dining there. But to answer the title question directly, the best place for seeing the scenery is on deck. Other than in the Glaciers it will be pleasant enough to just add however many layers you require to be comfortable. On Glacier cruising days "might be a little chilly" is a massive understatement--it will be COLD. As in walls-of-ice-surrounding-the-ship cold. But when I am on Golden in May sailing southbound I will bundle up and be outside as long as I can--what else is an Alaska cruise for?
LSWRArt Posted February 26, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted February 26, 2018 Thanks for the info. Is Skywalkers open all day as a viewing area before turning into a night club in the evening? it looks a good place to sit to warm up between visits to the deck
Rare geoherb Posted February 26, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 26, 2018 The best outside viewing area is on the upper promenade at the bow of the ship.

Sometimes there may be a scheduled meeting or activity there which might use part or all of the space.
