11:30 Fort Lauderdale Flight

First time cruiser here. Our boat docks at 530am. We wanted to book the 11:30 flight home (international flight) but are not sure if that would give us enough time, especially if we cannot exit the boat until 8:30am which seems to be the standard time. How far is the airport? If we couldn’t exit the boat until 8:30,would we have enough time?

Thanks in advance

We have taken 11:30 am domestic flights all the time from FLL (getting off the ship around 8 am) and never a problem. In fact, usually at our airline departure gate by 9-9:30 AM. Just be sure to get off the ship in the early groups, in case there is a backup at Customs (you should be able to use self-disembark if you can carry your own bags off).

From pier to airport is less than 15 minutes ($15 taxi fare). Do not use ship's transfers as it will slow you down and cost you more. Lots of taxi's normally available.

Why can’t you disembark until 8:30? If you self disembark, you can usually get off @ or before 7:00, leaving you plenty of time for the short taxi ride to FLL. Although you didn’t mention what airport you are flying out of.

Which RCI ship are you sailing? I ask because some get you off earlier then others.

Are you arriving back to Port Everglades? Pretty sure you are but just want to confirm.

You said you are flying internationally. Where and on what airline?

Likely 11:30 AM will be good but asking all these questions just to give you a reasonable answer.

Hi Keith,

We are indeed sailing out of port Everglades. We are sailing on the Adventure of the Seas and we will be flying Air Canada.

Cab / Uber would be our best bet I assume?

Rayneman5, as you want to check in at least two hours before your flight I would take a taxi over Uber assuming there is no wait for a taxi. If there was then Uber could be your backup plan.
