NCL Haven vs Royal Suite with Genie vs Celebrity Suite

We have been on 5 cruises on NCL, Royal and Celebrity. We balconies cabins for Royal and Celebrity. For the NCL Escape we won a bid for an AFT Haven Suite. It was beyond wonderful. It was our first experience with a suite and NCL does it very well .

I'd love to hear a comparison between the 3 cruise-lines for their suite/haven amenities. Did you prefer one over the other? Are the prices comparable for what you get? Which is your favorite?

I will post this on the other 2 cruise sites.

Thanks

We are in a Royal Suite on the Solstice right now . I prefer Celebrity. However the Deluxe Owners Suite on The Breakaway was amazing. However once we left the Haven we could not deal with the cigarette smoke. So we will stay with Celebrity

Can’t comment on NCL but can compare the RC Oasis and Freedom Class and the X suite experiences....

There is a wider choice of suite types on RC, the Genies are great at ‘saving’ seats for shows, escorting on and off the ship. Celebrity’s butlers offer more practical day to day services in terms of room service, additional snacks etc. The concierges on X we have found more proactive.

The suite lounge/restaurant on RC Oasis class we found inferior for food and drink service to Celebrity. Even less good for RC on Freedom class where the suite lounge is small and no dedicated restaurant.

RC ships do have suite only sun bed areas but nothing to write home about! Apart from Edge, not yet available on other X ships.

Price wise I don’t think there is that much difference. You do need to check exactly what you are getting, however, on both lines....It is only the top suites on both, for example that get unlimited speciality dining and premium drinks packages....on RC many of the top suites are for multiple occupancy so as a couple I think there is only a couple of suites that qualify....X also frequently include drinks packages of one type or another, for many/most suite guests on multiple cruises. This can make a significant cost saving. If I was you I would do a couple of ‘draft bookings’ on all three lines noting exactly on each what you do don’t get.

To us the biggest difference between the lines is nothing to do with the suite experience, it is to do with the general ambiance of the ship. RC with a focus on entertainment and activities and X with a focus on rest and relaxation....

Whatever you choose have a great time!

Have sailed in suites on X and NCL and X far exceeds the NCL experience. The cigarette smoke odor on NCL was pervasive on several decks and even wafted into LeBistro in particular. We had several FCR’s for NCL and we gave them to our son and canceled an existing NCL reservation after our first X cruise.

I have been on a Grand Loft Suite on Royal with a Genie and a Royal Suite on Celebrity.

The Genie is amazing and the Grand Loft Suite is two levels and two bathrooms. You also don't have to put your luggage out the last night because someone comes to your cabin the last morning and takes you and your luggage away. But Coastal Kitchen is no match for Luminae. Also Murano and Tuscan Grill are far superior to any specialities on Royal (you get unlimited speciality dining in both a Grand Loft Suite and Royal Suite on Celebrity. And Michael's Club is so much better than the lounge on Royal.
