Tunnel or Bridge to get to Port of Miami

I am coming from the North traveling South. When I do the Google Maps directions it sends me via the Bridge, but when I virtually drive the route all the signs for Port of Miami send you to the tunnel. Which is the best route?

If you are taking I-95 South to Miami, it will probably be easier to take the tunnel, that way you don't have to get off the highway and drive through Downtown Miami.

As you are arriving to Miami on I-95 South, take 395 East towards Miami Beach and Port Miami via Tunnel.

If the Tunnel is closed (which it rarely is), you would still take 395 East and get off on Biscayne Boulevard before the tunnel's exit. There will be a couple of signs telling you if it's open or closed.

tunnel was created to keep the traffic out of downtown

if you consider what the tunnel must have cost

the traffic on the old route must have been a BIG issue ......

Not as BIG as the cuts I am sure local politicians got. :lips-sealed::lips-sealed::lips-sealed::lips-sealed::lips-sealed:
